Aging drainage #infrastructure remains a challenge for #municipalities across Ontario, especially as older corrugated #steelpipe culverts reach the end of their service life.
In Casselman, Ontario, a failing 4.8m diameter CSP culvert on County Road 3 was replaced with a large #precastconcrete #clamshellculvert designed to improve #hydrauliccapacity, #structuralperformance, & long-term durability.
The project highlights how thoughtful design, quality-controlled #precastmanufacturing, & efficient staged installation can help reduce #construction risk, & minimize disruption to road users.

#Infrastructure dollars do more than pay for the final product. They support #localmanufacturing facilities, #skilledworkers, #suppliers, #trucking companies, #engineers, #inspectors, #contractors, & many other businesses involved in getting a project from design to completion.

ALT Graphic titled “Infrastructure Starts Local” featuring an urban roadway and city infrastructure. Text highlights that local infrastructure investment supports Canadian communities by keeping dollars closer to home, supporting local businesses, strengthening regional economies, building local supply chains, and creating long-term value.
Choosing #local is not only about where something is made. It is about strengthening the #supplychains, labour force, & #industryknowledge that help communities build & maintain reliable #infrastructure over the long term.
Every project has an #economicfootprint.
When we invest in #localinfrastructure, we should also be thinking about how that #investment supports the people & businesses behind it.
