HAPPY #CareDay24! Hitting the road soon for our @epicireland Care Day Carnival! This year, EPIC Youth Council members wanted to focus the celebration on their younger peers, so there's a fun+ action-packed day ahead for the amazing children in care coming to the Carnival 💜❤️🧡💙

In case you missed it, on the eve of the Bank Holiday, the latest homelessness figures were published:
📈1,510 homeless people aged 18-24, up 20% on last year's figure. These concerning figures highlight the lack of progress made.

Having partnered with CLM to provide free legal advice clinics for children in care + young care leavers, it is fantastic to see further investment in this area + in CLM. Wonderful to know the team will be busy upholding the legal rights of even more children + young people!
We are grateful to receive funding from the #RTEToyShowAppeal to research the unmet legal need of children and young people in Ireland. Part of this funding will support a new free legal advice clinic for children and young people If you have a legal query, ☎️ us on 01 847 7804

It was great to have William McNamara, @tusla National Lead for Aftercare present to some of the EPIC team this morning. As William said "a lot done, more to do!." EPIC will continue to work with Tusla and other partners to support young care-leavers in Aftercare Services.
Today, a number of Coalition members attended a stakeholder event on Supported Housing for Youth, an urgently needed action within the Youth Homelessness Strategy.
We provided expertise on the individualised supports for young people to successfully exit homelessness. (1/2)
We look forward to the commencement of this Supported Housing for Youth project, and the necessary multiagency collaboration required to deliver it. (2/2)
