The raise was basically what management imposed on us, we didn't get much more parental leave, and the salary improvements for lecturers are filled with holes. Moreover, the tentative agreement does nothing for counselor workload and student access to mental health.

Not only did this tentative agreement break our democratic practice as a union, it also falls very short of what our union members and students expected.

Our union practiced democracy amongst its members throughout negotiations. Yet, this tentative agreement was reached with management behind closed doors, with a very small amount of union officials. The entire bargaining team was not even involved in this closed door meeting.

We did not even hit our peak form as a union on strike. We were barely starting! We had could get stronger, and we still closed campuses and construction sites. Then the strike was called off after just 1 day. Da fawq?
