I hope I’ll see you at @CapitalFactory Black in Tech today! Office hours and resume training are happening now and then we have a full day of programming. Big thanks to @Oracle @NetSuite for helping to make it happen! It will be PACKED so look for me in our newest t-shirt…

Have you seen any clever ways to collect this information that don't involve adding a handful of questions to every signup form? Something that makes people WANT to give you the information instead of feeling awkward about it? Other ideas on how to improve this? @CFDiversity

I think most people who fit into these categories know that we do this because we are trying to help and have good intentions, but it can feel like a lot of personal information for someone attending an infosession. We end up asking the same q's over and over.

We ask when people sign up for events, when we invest in their company, when they become an LP investor, and when they sign up to be a member or mentor. We ask for gender, race, sexual orientation, military affiliation, and disabilities.

I believe in the old management saying by @johndoerr that you should "measure what matters" and so do many of @CapitalFactory's partners who want to help make sure we are reaching under-represented founders and diverse entrepreneurs. We measure this through self-reported surveys.
