Crews from the Locke Township Fire Department, West Rowan Volunteer Fire Department, and the North Carolina Foresty Service operating at an earlier large outside Fire in the 1200 Block of Goodnight road. The fire has been contained and will be monitored throughout the night.

At 6:00 PM on 9/16, Locke Fire responded to a motor vehicle accident, upgraded to a vehicle fire en route. Upon arrival, Engine 622 found heavy fire in the engine compartment of a car & rear of a truck. Crews quickly searched both vehicles, extinguished fires, & provided care.

🚒🔥 After two long years of waiting, our new engine has finally arrived at the firehouse today! Our team can't wait to mount the equipment and get started on the mandated training for this apparatus. We are hoping to have this engine in service by the end of the year.

“Small explosions in mailboxes” reported along this section of HWY 152 in China Grove. Rowan Emergency Services and @RowanSheriff are warning residents to be cautious opening their mailboxes in this area. 152 closed at Stirewalt Rd. More to come @WBTV_News
