A Travis County judge ordered those behind the mailers offering support for transgender youth to answer questions under oath later this week. The Transgender Education Network of Texas, known as TENT, requested the deposition, saying the mailers were worded to appear to come from the organization. texastribune.org/2026/10/28/…

BREAKING: Texas Republicans announce they will “Pass on Paxton”: “I truly believe that he is the most corrupt politician Texas has ever seen.” “To send Ken Paxton to the United States Senate is adding another gator to the swamp.” “James Talarico is by far — without a doubt — the best person in the race for the US Senate.”

We post this AP style rule pretty much every time change, and it never fails to delight some people and surprise others: It’s daylight saving time, not daylight savings time. It ends at 2 a.m. Sunday in most of the U.S., when clocks fall back one hour. Enjoy that extra hour of Halloween night sleep! apnews.com/article/003f56383…

WOW -- Vance *defends* Ramaswamy's reprehensible ad 👇 Q: Ramaswamy's campaign put out a controversial ad featuring his opponent's mother. Some Republicans are backing away from that. Do you think that ad was appropriate? JD VANCE: Well, I'll be honest with you. Whether the ad was appropriate or not is not really my concern. My concern is who is gonna govern. I have to admit I'm a little bit disgusted when I see Republicans who are whining more about that ad than they are about what the Democrats want to do.
