Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and reflect on the countless families and communities forever impacted by that day.
As a school community, we recognize the importance of remembering our shared history and helping future generations understand the significance of September 11.

Today from 4:30–6:30 PM, West Chicago Community High School will host our annual College & Career Fair, connecting students and families with incredible opportunities for their future.
But before tonight’s big event, our AVID 10 students kicked off the day in the best way possible — by hosting a Mock Career Fair for freshmen and fellow sophomores during Den!
After completing interest surveys in AVID, students were matched with career fields and spent hours preparing thoughtful, engaging presentations to share with their peers. Their hard work, leadership, and positivity truly set the tone for a day focused on future possibilities.
A huge shoutout to AVID 10 teachers Emily Hernandez and Michelle Walters for creating meaningful, real-world learning experiences that empower our Wildcats to explore their passions and plan ahead.
We are proud of our students for stepping up, leading, and helping one another envision what’s next.

Tremendous overtime win for the 4-0 Cats beating a tough Hinkley Big Rock 43-38 team to win the IMSA tournament for the fourth year in a row🎉🎉🎉 Alexis led with 16, Mackenzie 11. Freshman Ella nabbed 15 rebounds. Huge bucket in overtime from Jayna sealed it. Way to go Cats!
Yesterday, our Music Department welcomed nearly 150 eighth-grade musicians to WCCHS for our annual Middle School Music Festival—a tradition that brings future Wildcats into the heart of our music community.
Throughout the day, our WCCHS music students mentored and rehearsed with the visiting middle school musicians, building confidence, connections, and excitement for what awaits them in high school.
A special thank-you to our incredible students, Humanities Division Head — Lisa Willuweit, and directors —
Sara Austin, Orchestra Director
Marissa Janiszewski, Director of Bands
Brandon Fantozzi, Choral Director
— for creating an experience that inspires young musicians and nurtures their love for music.
We can’t wait to see these combined groups shine again at our Holiday Concerts in December!
Choir: December 9th, 7pm
Orchestra: December 10th, 7pm
Band: December 11th, 7pm

American Education Week at WCCHS:
Sweet Home West Chicago
This week, we’re celebrating what truly makes our school feel like home — our dedicated, caring staff. To show our appreciation, we’re spotlighting Chicago’s favorites all week long as part of our Sweet Home West Chicago theme.
Today, our staff enjoyed a well-deserved treat from Eli’s Cheesecake — a small way to say thank you for everything they do. Up next: Garrett’s Popcorn and Portillo’s.
Thank you to the staff who make WEGO a home for all!
