10. @MartinSLewis, please read this thread. Do you have any advice please on what to do about a business that’s not meeting its obligations to the Equality Act & causing me heartache and hassle?

Can highly recommend reading and judging a shortlist picked by @authorsclub writers. They know their literary onions.
Looking forward to the @AuthorsClub Best First Novel Award this eve. #BFNA2024 @SamiraAhmedUK is choosing the winner from a terrific shortlist of writers: @santanu_bx @TomCrewe1 #JacquelineCrooks @Luidas #SianHughes #ViktoriaLloydBarlow @michaelmagee__

Couldn't agree more!
It’s wonderful when a book lives up to all the praise and prizes. A fascinating story, so confidently told, with thoroughly real characters and agonising moral compromises. Brilliant! ⁦@YoungWriterYear⁩ ⁦@TomCrewe1⁩

Massive thanks to @jerichowriters for my bursary opportunity, the wonderful @DebiAlper and @emma_darwin. The support and encouragement I received on the six week self-editing course blew me away. So excited to be putting all that great advice into action! #editing 😍

Second books can be as scary as debuts but in a different way. Do you agree #WritingCommunity? Am so thrilled to come home from school to find that Winter Lights is a Star Book with @LoveReadinguk! Huge thanks to them for this wonderful review 🙂 shorturl.at/bpy26

Hello @BloomsburyBooks Bluemoose Books first published The Gallows Pole @BenMyers1 It would be appreciated when you send out press releases that you mention this. Indy presses struggle to grab any of the headlines. without your sharp edged elbows. @thebookseller

Just over 2 years ago, Martha Mills died in hospital of sepsis. Her tragic death was avoidable and is leading to the introduction of Martha’s law - a right for families to get second opinions. She died because of a hospital culture – where questioning and challenge were not routine and speaking up was difficult. The law may be changing but its our culture which needs to change. Everyone of us who works in hospitals, has to ask ourselves, what more can I do to help change the way we work so that others don’t die for the same reason Martha died. We owe it to her. She deserves nothing less. In this week’s Mail’s health section, I look at why Martha died and how future deaths could be avoided.

My latest column for The Bookseller on the 'are there too many literary prizes?' debate. Not for grass roots books without big marketing budgets ... @The_CWA @TheD20Authors #BookPrizes #LiteraryAwards @WomensPrize @Soc_of_Authors @nicolaz @C1areChristian @AdrienPrize @JamieRHale
"Prizes, particularly grassroots ones, champion lesser-known voices as well as showcase great writing; that can only be a good thing for readers" @penny_author argues we need more book prizes, not fewer: buff.ly/3OdO8Zu
