THE SYNOPSIS IS COMPLETE (ish, lol) I have transferred it into chapter headings now I only need to write the bugger

it's particularly complicated because I have 3 viewpoint characters, who are *far less powerful* than at least 4 significant background characters who are closely involved in the plot (not handsoff questgiver types) keeping coherency, and character agency, is a fine line
it's Sunday, so I'm writing! More accurately: I'm plotting. Updating the synopsis so things all fall into place... it's working so far...

ok, I am abandoning one key assumption I was making in the plot... things are simpler for it
send help, my brain is melting trying to get the synopsis straight so I know what is happening in the rest of the plot

I know what's happening at the beginning. I know how it ends. What I do NOT know is the middle... AS ALWAYS...

Tips for dealing with writer's block: 1. Write a sex scene 2. Kill one of your characters 3. Both #1 and #2 * doesn't work as well for academic writing

started drafting my query letter before work this morning - the book is nowhere near drafted but the 2-para characters and stakes summary for the query was actually really fun and motivational this book has a LOT going on

it's traditional for a character whose title is Mistress of Novices to be a nasty piece of work, right?

hmm. What might an underwater humanoid civilization want to trade with people on the shore? What do shore-dwellers have they might need?

A thing fantasy often gets wrong: Before the Industrial Revolution. Clothes were EXPENSIVE. Very, very expensive. Most people had more or less only one set of outer clothes and a few of underwear. If you were prosperous you might have a 'best' set....

... and even the relatively wealthy (merchants, minor lords) would have only a few sets of good clothes.

I need to flesh out the ceremonies of the religion my characters follow!
