I suppose this is the only approach left after your party leader badly lost a recent by-election to Labour
'Is that a really good use of his time?'
'Raising money for a cancer charity?'
The Green Party's @floschechter brands Andy Burnham going on Gogglebox as 'ridiculous'.

Health and social care reform. Lilian Macer of Unison, “For any public sector reforms, you cannot fix or try and fix health without looking at social care. It cannot be separated.” The poor and sustained delayed discharge figures demonstrate this clearly.

For 26 years Yipworld has provided vital support, guidance and opportunity to young people and families.
Today, I praised them and the fabulous Janice Hendry for winning charity of the year and the community award of the year at the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce business awards.

Good to see @CMochan at #STUCWomen26 today in Dundee. A chance to catch up with the @RMTunion delegation too
I’m glad to see motions at #STUCWomen26 from @EISUnion focused on peace when far too much of our current political debate involves sabre rattling for war

At #STUCWomen26 today the @RMTunion delegation highlighted the challenges faced by women working offshore. Employers must take responsibility for the health and wellbeing of women in the workforce in the offshore and maritime sectors #WomensVoices

🔴 STUC Women’s Conference 2026 – Perimenopause: A Workplace Health, Safety and Equality Issue
Kerry McCrone, FBU Scottish Women’s Secretary, spoke to second the CWU motion on Perimenopause – A Workplace Health, Safety and Equality Issue.
Kerry highlighted the FBU’s upcoming CODE RED campaign, which calls on the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) to provide meaningful support for women across all aspects of menstrual health, perimenopause and menopause.
🚒 For far too long, women firefighters have been expected to work in environments where basic facilities to manage their menstrual and menopausal health are inadequate or simply nonexistent. From fire stations to the incident ground, these unacceptable conditions have been allowed to continue for far too long.
Menstrual health and menopause are not simply women’s issues – they are workplace health, safety, dignity and equality issues.
The FBU Women’s Committee will continue to challenge these inequalities and push for appropriate facilities, meaningful workplace policies and practical support that recognise the needs of women throughout their careers.
✊ Our women members deserve more than words of support. They deserve workplaces that meet their needs, protect their health and uphold their dignity.
🔴 CODE RED – Because women’s health matters.

Ignore the scare stories from the bosses. Working people create the wealth in this country.
They deserve strong trade unions to fight for their fair share.

Communities across Scotland need the opportunity to live up to the ambition, talent and drive of the people that live there.
Today I attended the 40th anniversary of the launch of the Ayr Housing Aid Centre. They have provided a vital service to the community for decades.

If you are a trade unionist in South Ayrshire concerned about the proposed reforms to local government please join us tomorrow.
We will not accept more cuts.
That didn’t take long
Reform UK has lost its first MSP and dropped into third place at Holyrood.
