Wonderful to see CPEC researcher Michela Tinelli featured in this list, for the important research she and her team have conducted around homelessness and the economic case for residential support. 🎉
🏆 We’re kicking off our NIHR Impact Prizes 2026 winner announcements with Dr Ian Pope, our 1st winner, recognised in the early career researcher category! His research showed that offering stop smoking support in emergency departments can double quit rates. The intervention was cheap to deliver and highly cost-effective, offering a powerful and scalable tool for combatting health inequalities. The COSTED model is now implemented by 16 NHS trusts. Congratulations! 👏 #NIHRImpactPrizes #NIHR20
