Current geographic frameworks for N and NE Europe do not take full advantage of the strengths that Sweden and Finland bring to NATO. We argue that NATO instead should treat what we call the "Northeast Quadrant" as one comprehensive and holistic area of operations.
"Sweden and Finland alliance membership, increased NATO focus on deterrence and defense, and augmented NATO spending all create a more challenging security environment for Russia." -Read more in CSBA's latest by @KakiDahlstrand, @CaseyNicastro, and Jan van Tol

It was an honor to contribute to this report during my time working @CSBAdc. The now-released report offers a thorough dive into the history of U.S. NC3 and its implications for contemporary deterrence challenges.

It’s clear that the PRC and PLA remain acute threats to U.S. national security. A question I’m thinking about is how Epic Fury could affect U.S. military readiness for a great-power war.
@mgerrydoyle explores this question in his latest piece @Bloomberg, including @becca_wasser @tshugart3 Peter Layton and my takes. @CSBAdc

Should we encourage China to emphasize global power projection (hoping it imposes some costs and creates new vulnerabilities) or discourage it (because it could undermine US influence and prestige)?
I've heard both arguments for years, but it suddenly seems more relevant.

I have been recommending this report since it came out. It's a really great read, puts in perspective the limitations of easy solution, and points to the inadequacy of stocks of precision munitions.
CSBA report on the "inadequacy of Western munition stocks" and how the "U.S. military has encountered difficulties meeting its PGM demands in nearly every campaign since their adoption".

It then goes through multiple scenarios to detail how bad it gets.
