Price action this week increasingly validating that last week was a flush out low for the Nasdaq, if history is any sort of guide
The Nasdaq just suffered a sharp selloff. History suggests what happens next depends on one big question. 📉
@CVecchioFX analyzed nearly 40 years of market data following rapid Nasdaq declines of 6% or more.
His findings raise one big question: Is this another buying opportunity or the start of something bigger?

Where do you go next after reporting from the Strait of Hormuz? For the past three months, Citrini Research, an independent research firm, has been working with our team and an internal research model to see if they could use AI to create a new drug. What follows is an entertaining, candid, and humbling account of a group of motivated nonexperts (or “filthy casuals”, as Citrini would say) trying to tackle a real problem in human health with Claude.
We landed on scorpion neurotoxins, which kill over 3,000 people a year. Of the 211 designs we produced and tested, 17 met our criteria for a binder. None of the designs bound more than one toxin and none have been tested for neutralizing a toxin.
One of my favorite quotes from the piece is: “Our virtual biologist may have compressed a year's worth of work into a couple days, but biology works at the speed of life…Over two days, we watched Claude work through problems at a speed that was difficult to comprehend. For the next two months, we spent much of the time becoming familiar with laboratory turnaround times (This mostly involved sending memes in Slack).”
What is AI really capable of in bio?
To separate hype from reality, we spent 3 months working firsthand with @AnthropicAI's internal research model to see if it could create an experimental scorpion antivenom.

Check out what @qmbigbeat had to say on @tastyliveshow w/@CVecchioFX about some of the reasons he bought the dip.
He took profits before the tech selloff. Now he’s buying back in. 📈
@qmbigbeat, Founder and CEO of KR Markets, joins @CVecchioFX on tastylive to explain why he reduced leverage ahead of last week’s market decline and what convinced him it was time to reenter.
From spotting signs of capitulation to monitoring the VIX and trading volume, Orr explains why he believes this is a stock picker’s market, not a time to buy everything.

In July 2008, the ECB under Jean-Claude Trichet hiked rates. In March 2020, ECB President Lagarde said "we are not here to close spreads" and it accelerated the European bond rout.
It's 2026. The ECB has hiked is reluctant re: spreads. Let's see if things pan out different!
ECB RELUCTANT TO INTERVENE AS FRENCH BOND RISKS MOUNT
French 10-year bond spreads over Germany have hit their highest since 2011, raising fears of contagion across Europe.
The ECB could deploy its Transmission Protection Instrument (TPI) to stabilize markets, but officials say intervention is not currently justified.
With inflation above target, bond purchases carry risks. The ECB insists France must address its own fiscal problems through a credible budget and deficit reduction.
I use @yardeni daily, and have for many years - it’s indispensable. It was very informative to go directly to the source and talk with Ed himself about what’s happening with global bond yields.
