Seems like constitutional damages are a real thing unless you are residents of Winnie Mandela informal settlement in Tembisa.
Replying to @ConCourtSA
(2/4) Given the egregiousness and callousness of the violation and the circumstances of the applicants, an award of constitutional damages is the most appropriate and effective remedy in the circumstances.

Judge Wilson is one of the finest judges we’ve had. There is zero indication he’s not articulating the law. This is just an attempt to undermine a judicial ruling without saying why, in law, it is wrong. He’s literally following ConCourt precedent and the current view of SA law.
South Africans, I think it’s time we stop just complaining on X and start using the institutions available to us. I’ve drafted a formal request asking the appropriate bodies to investigate the concerns surrounding Judge Stuart Wilson, including questions of judicial impartiality, disclosure and recusal in immigration-related matters. I’m sending it to: —Judicial Service Commission —Judicial Conduct Committee —Parliament’s Justice & Constitutional Development Committee I’m making the template available for anyone who shares these concerns to copy, personalise and submit independently. Template + submission details below 👇🏾

There’s nothing in Judge Wilson’s judgment that is not in line with what the @ConCourtSA said in a judgment from July 2026. In any event, there’s no such thing as an “investigation into potential apparent bias”.

❗️❗️The Glenlivet ad promoting alcohol using our women struggle heroes of 1956 is unacceptable!! 😡 The hypocrisy of Glenlivet promoting their brand using the women of 1956, when the voices of women were excluded at NEDLAC for the 2016 Draft Liquor Amendment Bill - which proposed new restrictions on harmful alcohol advertising - because of alcohol businesses’ lobbying. Glenlivet’s parent company Pernod Ricard, is a paying member of the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa (@CGCSA1) who successfully lobbied at NEDLAC to stop laws that could have helped stop our current alcohol crisis. Big business bullies need to stay out of our democracy!! #TogetherForJustice ✊🏾

In addition to wealth tax being imposed on big corporates, big polluters must pay reparations to countries like Nepal that are experiencing effects of climate change."

[MARIKANA] This week, 14 years ago, miners at then-Lonmin mine embarked on a strike demanding a living wage of R12,500 and improved living & working conditions. By 16 August 2012, 44 people had lost their lives, but 14 years later, there is still no #JusticeforMarikana.
