CARE: Showcases are a bit buggy right now in-game. The inventory preview shows the "old" score (calc. among a mon's species) but the actual score uses the form itself as a reference. Here is an example of an Alolan Exeggutor getting only 543 pts instead of 2660.
If you're on Android and don't want to wait for the Play Store update to be published, you can download the APK directly here: download.tesmath.com/apk/cal…
For everyone experiencing problems scanning the team leader appraisal screen: It's due to the game update to 0.355. We have a fix ready and are uploading it to the Play Store and App Store for publication right now.
Let's hope the review process is swift 🤞
If you're having problems scanning because of the new screen layout (caught at box moved up), a fix is currently being published on the Play Store. However, that can take up to 24h. If you can't wait that long, you can download an update here: download.tesmath.com/apk/cal…

Omg it’s real? Smallest possible excellent throw guarantees a critical catch 🤩

🤓 I tested the new catch-cap to determine how it works.
There are two independent limits. If you hit either you will be capped.
❌ Your catches in the last 24 hours can't exceed 4800
❌ Your catches in the last 7 days can't exceed 14000
The daily cap is basically irrelevant. Unless you are intentionally trying to reach the daily cap you won't be affected by it.
Unfortunately the 7-day cap is quite low and will impact serious catch-focused players, especially during important events.
The 7-day catch cap is implemented in the same way as the the 7-day spin cap. That is, the game tracks your catches in buckets of 6 hours. The catches from your 27 previous 6-hour buckets, plus the catches in your current 6-hour bucket can't exceed 14000. The 6-hour buckets are aligned to UTC so if you cap at 13:00 UTC you will be capped for at least another 5 hours until 18:00 UTC.
With all that said, there are caveats. The following catch methods ignored the cap:
✅ Go+ and Go Plus+ catches (likely a bug!)
✅ Rocket encounters
✅ Raid encounters
✅ Special/timed research encounters
Unfortunately bypassing the cap with any of these puts you in "debt". That is, by caching past the cap, you are simply borrowing from future catches. You could only indefinitely bypass the cap by abandoning manual catching altogether. Gaining > 2000 catches a day using the Go+ exclusively is time consuming and not worth it.
Furthermore, running the Go+ after you've reached the cap dramatically increases the frequency with which you encounter the cap, without netting you any more catches in total. I have generated two charts to compare the strategy of stopping the Go+ when the cap is reached, versus continuing to run it.
I hope Niantic reconsiders this cap. It is too low and makes for a terrible gameplay experience.
