Excited to announce @firecrawl's $14.5M Series A 🔥
We've grown 15x in the past 12 months. The demand for clean web data in AI is real.
Here's the story of how we built the web data layer for AI - starting from a side project to powering how 350k+ builders get web data 🧵
"Lets train our AI's to work just like all the companies that failed and sold for parts"
seems like adverse selection
such an interesting launch. couple of thoughts on two themes I’m seeing in the market rn:
1/ there are so many companies like Replay and Micro1 trying to purchase proprietary data from wound-down companies. That data can then be used to improve performance at the model level, leaving us with a very smart large model doing more of your work end to end and working like a true colleague
2/ we're going to see a wave of agentic workflows 2.0 like this one from Hone where they understand that slack-agent workers like Tomo/Viktor won't cut it and you need to train your agents on outcomes asap. This is what Instict is doing for personal AI, basically going after persistence and the agent learning what you want and taking you out of the loop essentially. Hone is directionally right on doing the same for your business
The game at play is that they're all trying to build a rockstar worker: Someone who'll never ask for the same thing twice and they’ll be proactive about what they don’t know or need confirmation on. It's generally trivial to spec that out to an agentic employee, but it’s been historically hard to build a UX that enables it end to end, without much coordination overhead, while also building trust with a human on it's competence
lot's of data + UX/UI + training innovation will happen in this space and I'm so giddy about the next stage

We're using a swarm of agents to catalog the internet. We're calling it Alexandria. It's live today
Search boxes were shaped around human limits. Models are smart enough to navigate a catalog. They don't need a new Google. They need a library

Introducing Alexandria.
We raised a $75M Series B led by Smash Capital to build the world’s largest knowledge library for superintelligence.
Supercharge your agents with instant access to the most powerful data sets & providers.

Your coding agents need the best knowledge
Coding agents rely heavily on search tools to find the answers they need.
But which tools actually help them find the right sources?
Today we're open sourcing DevDex, a benchmark for how reliably search tools find what a coding agent is looking for.

Firecrawl is free with our Keyless plan
We just killed Exa, Tavily, SerpAPI, and Brave.
Your agent can now search & fetch any webpage for 100% FREE.
Them: $7 per 1,000 searches.
Us: $0. No subscriptions, no quotas.
Humans search Google for free. Agents shouldn't have to pay either.
Made possible by @Tiny_Fish and @MonidHQ.
For a relative noob
How much better is pgrust now? why should i use it?
In @pgrustdb, @JasonSeibel and I built a solution to one of the most common causes of Postgres outages: runaway queries.
pgrust can selectively throttle queries. By default, we deprioritize long running queries, preventing one big long running query from taking down your db
