What if I told you the SeCreT to churning out winning creative briefs has almost NOTHING to do with originality…
And almost EVERYTHING to do with ‘ethical’ stealing?
It’s true, because ethical stealing is EXACTLY how I…
Wrote an ad that’s on track to spend 7 figures for a 9-figure brand you’ve swiped…
Pulled $1.5M in ad spend in ONE month for the top 2 9-figure DTC brands in the game…
And helped one of my mentees add $5M in ad spend to his track record in 60 days (making him the #1 CS for his 9-figure client).
That’s why @matthew volkwyn and I chatted all about ethical stealing in our latest video titled…

- Iason (#1 Ad Bro)
P.S. Let me know your biggest takeaways in the comment section of the video…
All the best creative strategists I know are able to switch off their brains and become strategically retarded on command.
This allows them to see simple patterns everyone else won’t consider because “thats too dumb to work”.
These guys make their clients STUPID money for their clients, all because they RETARDMAXX
I strive to be more like them each day

"Hey Nick, I'm stuck at $40k months, can you tell me what's wrong?"
"Sure bro, what product are you selling?"
"I'm selling smartphone covers for people suffering from erectile dysfunction, it is infused with testosterone-loaded zinc particles where every time you grip it, microdoses transfer through your palms, increase nitric oxide, and improve penile blood flow so you’ll be getting erections any time of the day”
The moment the weekend hits, dudes act like the shareholders don’t exist anymore.
Really makes you think.
Over the next year, many creative strategists are gonna get brutally fired.👹😮💨
The fact is, our market’s maturing and sophisticating as we speak.
When our role first emerged it was disgustingly easy to land huge clients and deliver - the barrier for entry virtually didn’t exist.
Today, many say it’s way harder because brands demand to see basic results and experience before hiring you - meanwhile this is the bare MINIMUM barrier for entry in most industries.🤣🤣
In 6 months people will talk about how easy it was today.
So who’s gonna get kicked to the curb next year?
The creative strategist who can tell you what works, but not why it works.
This is basic sophistication progression - it’s already starting and will only speed up.
Good news is, if you’re a creative strategist who uses their brain, you’re probably safe.
Unfortunately a large portion of CS talent, who can’t do this, will get fired by their premium clients and forced to work slave gigs for way less than what they’re making now.
Damn, life’s rough if you don’t stay ahead of the curve.
Stay safe out there ;)
Conversations > courses
The market moves faster than anyone can put together a course.
(This counts for high production youtube videos too.)
Today, social media, podcasts and discussions with top 1% of performers are the only ways to stay in the loop.
Clearly direct response skills aren’t required to be a good creative strategist.
I’ve met some creative strategists, with virtually no background in DR, who regularly produce winners and crush it for 8-Fig+ clients.
How do they make up for their lack of copy chops?
It’s simple really…
They’re data literate (not as common as some think)
If you can understand what a piece of data stands for - then you can decode it. (Super basic and not data literacy yet)
Whereas, if you can understand what it means in the context of the account and how you can act on it - now you’re able to comprehend data.
If you can truly comprehend data, and read for meaning, you’re already more advanced than most creative strategists who still throw sh*t at the wall and hope something sticks.
And if you have copywriting and direct response skills on top of that - it’s beyond easy to crush it.
ATTENTION Creative Strategists - slave gig available‼️
Recently, an agency asked if I’d join them as a senior creative strategist.
Once I received the JD, it was clear what type of gig this was.
No budget range (but apparently it’s “very competitive”)
No clear scope or creative volume.
And twice they mentioned “direct access to the founder” as a benefit.
All the buzzwords about scaling hard and what not.
The classic setup for a total slave gig.
But I love getting extra perspective so I asked for more info.
They sent me a Loom to ‘fully explain the job’:
Probationary period: 3 months
Minimum output: 10 concepts per day
Compensation: $5/concept
NO PERFORMANCE BONUS
So 200+ concepts every month…
And I take home $1k?
Well… at least I get access to the founder💀💀
When a brand or agency clearly doesn’t value creative, they instantly disqualify themselves from access to top talent by design.
I mean, why would I want to be the person you hire to create something you don’t value🤣🤣
But hey, that’s just my opinion - if YOU think it sounds like a great gig and you’re interested…
Comment “SLAVE” below and I’ll intro you.
