Goodbye !!!!
Cambridge Canopy Project cambridge.gov.uk/cambridge-c… comes to an end today. 1/5
Why not find out what we have achieved by listening to this presentation youtube.com/watch?v=ldNF0OhA… 5/5
And of course the biggest thanks must go the residents of Cambridge who participated in many of the projects activities and schemes and without whom the City’s urban forest would be all the more poorer. Keep on planting and caring for those trees. 4/5
And to thank our former colleague Matt Ling who led the project. You can watch Matt talk about the project here: youtube.com/watch?v=rqrE6FTP… 3/5
We would like to thank our partners in the Nature Smart Cities across the 2 Seas project naturesmartcities.eu/ , which also finishes today for all their support. 2/5

The Giant Redwood (Sequoiadendron giganteum) is our December #TreeoftheMonth. These tall evergreen conifers can reach over 80 metres in their native California. Our #AlexandraPark @FriendsAllyPark tree is just 26 metres with a smaller partner nearby. #HaringeyFavouriteTrees

☀️ We must scale up climate solutions
According to the latest report by the #IPCC, polluting fossil fuels are causing climate change. Now that we have the solutions, we need to scale them up quickly. #COP15 #ForNature

By leaving deadwood in community spaces and woods, land managers & councils can provide homes for all sorts of insects, mosses, fungi & lichens, as well as vital bird & bat nesting sites. It's also easy climate action, as deadwood locks up carbon for years!
