I wont be clicking on any anti Steve Smith muckraking. The guy had a neck injection that went wrong. There is no lack of commitment angle. Any writer smearing that crap around or making this a story has no journalistic compass.

Russell Brand, the most self righteous wanker in entertainment, is now a convicted rapist. I hope he continues trying to look smarter than everyone else when he's in jail. That will fly well I'm sure.
LIV Golf was bullshit. And I called R360 a fraud show from day 1. Without 100 yrs of scar tissue, parochial hatred, local jnr nurseries & dads dragging kids to the footy in the rain, manufactured leagues are just expensive house parties where benders leave after dropping a shit

Q: Do the NRL realise how little money it would take to back @DragonsOfficiel and @TOXIII to the hilt, shake up @SuperLeague and start winning stuff? And raise standard massively in Super XIII.
A: cheap as chips.

Spend half a day in public hospital emergency wait area. You see the pressure emergency services are under. Add a million immigrants the past 3 yrs - every 3rd triage requires an interpreter. Extra wait. Extra pressure. Extra anger. Interesting what this looks like in 10 years!

Sunday’s Rugby League World Cup game between Samoa v Tonga was spectacular. 13 of their players recently turned down union for league - including the brilliant Leka Halasima. It’s a trend that looks like it will only get stronger.
The dark side of the Nations Championship - as the have-nots of Test rugby fear for their future.

Lucky enough to have had a beer with Paul Langmack a few months back when I had my punters club day. Also crossed paths back in 2017 prior to Origin 1 in Brisbane as well... He seemed a light hearted & genuine welcoming guy. I'm a little numb. Real sad. #Vale

There's some shite takes flying around, but 'The Rugby League World Cup is broken' midway through what is quite literally the most watched, most-attended and (just you wait) most profitable World Cup of all time...
Got me thinking about all the gibber you read every #RLWC as a hardcore Test footy fan, such as:
- People tuning in once every four years and immediately wanting to tear the whole thing apart, despite the IRL having looked at this from every angle for years. Getting all the clubs, who actually own the players (plus the RLPA) to agree is a minor miracle.
- 'We need a proper international calendar' when we're currently into year four of a seven-year calendar and it's been there all along if you could be arsed to look. How much calendar do you need?!
- 'England need to play more games' when England have played more internationals than any other team competing at this RLWC since the last one (followed by France)
- Oscillating between 'every game is a blowout!' and 'there's not enough teams!'. There are only a handful of genuinely competitive international teams and rugby league is an inherently unforgiving sport, so you either get an expanded RLWC with lots of blowouts or a contracted one with fewer blowouts. That's the game.
- 'They're all from Western Sydney' as if State of Origin's arbitrary eligibility rules are some universal standard of international sporting legitimacy. The recent 'proper' FIFA World Cup was full of teams reflecting migration and diaspora communities. That's the world, get used to it.
- 'This format is shite, here's what I would do' - OK, good fun, but cost it. Actually work out how much it costs to add six teams to the men's tournament (or just cast your mind back to 2022...) and then work out the value add of Ireland 48-2 Jamaica at the World Cup.
- 'Nobody cares about international rugby league' when, quite clearly, people who like rugby league care and they're the core audience of rugby league tournaments...
- 'We need to grow the international game' when there's more international footy being played than ever before, much of it by people who've never been anywhere near Western Sydney. The Netherlands play so many games they're ranked above France!
There's plenty to criticise about international rugby league, but it'd be nice if people understood what they're criticising first.

Defending a political party like
it’s your ride or die footy team is lame as shit, they don’t give a fuck about you. Almost everything is objectively worse than it was 5 years ago with more to come. They’re laughing & making bank while you argue with algorithms on apps.

Yep. The NRL does, for every player with annual salary cap grants. The clubs determine how much, but all players are paid with NRL money and this is an NRL run event.

Its harsh @SSFCRABBITOHS wont let Haas play for Samoa.
If Samoa do something special and win then Payne would miss out on an once in a life time experience. It would be Samoa's first WC win in any sport.
To not be a part of that because of a sore finger, would be a shame.
Huge Dynasty Fantasy Clash for me. Going with:
Q. Drake Maye
R. Bijan & Chase Brown
W. London & Parker
T. Loveland
Flx. Luther Pickens & DJ Moore
K. McPherson
Leaving Omari Cooper, Jordan Mason & Makai Lemon on the bench. Fingers crossed my Coyotes explode.
International Rugby League is in a better place than ever!
I just cannot imagine when I was age 17 back in '94 watching the last ever true Kangaroos Tour before Superleague tore the game apart, that I'd be gripped by Tonga v Samoa thinking "this is better than Origin"
Lemuelu staggered the line there & Spencer got his head in the wrong position. Gun try by AFB at a critical moment
