Think of the amount of taxes that are avoided by combining these two huge institutions together!
These executives have to be smiling at the expected new salaries, of course we will never know as they will be treated like a church and not have to file a #990 like every other “not for profit”…except for a church…
But I promise you, there is nothing holy are reverent about this group.

Community Bankers: VCS Bowman has a target on her back. We should protect one of our most important Main Street advocates!
Can’t Governors talk supervision during blackout, @business? There’s no one more involved in supervisory changes than @federalreserve VCS Bowman. Makes sense she’d meet w/ bankers while vetting discussions w/ Fed staff. We need an accessible Fed. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Sometimes you dedicate your professional expertise, time, talent and treasure to the cause you believe the most in. You spend more than two decades delivering, advocating, championing, testifying and showing up. Mentoring, recruiting, coaching, helping. And; then when there is a difference of opinion, the very thing that makes any organization strong, you’re ostracized. Unceremoniously. Thanklessly. I will never, ever, apologize for remaining true to supporting a member driven mission of an association founded in my home state that I am proud to say I was the 90th chairman of. It should always and forever remain member driven above all else.

Okay, wow. @RepAndyBarr asks Fed VC Miki Bowman if she believes the San Francisco Fed is being responsive to an outside review of the failure of SVB. Bowman indicates some Fed officials have refused to meet with the outside reviewers. That is news!

Hey @FedPayImprove what are you advertising FedNow for credit unions/autoloans? Why do you need instant payments for a car loan and why car dealers who give loans not covered by CFPB?

The @FDICgov ‘s report on the three big bank failures of 2023 is worth reading.
It certainly emphasizes the importance of monitoring deposit concentrations and just as good banking practice, no sound community banker would ever put themselves in that position, of being “beholden” to only a handful of large depositors to fund the balance sheet.
Thankfully, that is not how a typical community banker is structured, as we serve all in our community and usually have a nice diversified funding source.
As the FDIC states:
“Our results show that deposit insurance is stabilizing.”
This is correct, but even when the systemic risk exemption was initiated, some depositors still “took flight” so unlimited insurance is not the answer nor will the cost of that ever be able to be absorbed by a typical community banker.
I hope Congress “ @SenKatieBritt “ will take note of this report and give the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) permanent authority to institute a “TAG” like program that might just avoid failures and bridge banks in the future and the agency should also re-evaluate the least cost model and require any bidding institution of bank failures to take all deposits, so as to treat all depositors fairly just like they do at SIFI’s because #CommunityBanks are systemically important to our main streets as well!

Cmty bankers and Barney Frank were at odds on many policies, but he was the most effective HBC Chair I ever worked with. Most Cmty bankers forget that nearly all the Cmty bank friendly regs exist because of Barney Frank.

While bankers have not always agreed with Frank's actions, they have seldom seen his equal on Capitol Hill.
"On a scale of 1 to 10, he's a 10," says Jamie Dimon, the chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase. "In terms of knowledge, brains, understanding—he's way up there."

This is what you get if Stablecoin yield passes - another BlackRock fund. Stablecoin is a great payments mechanism. As a savings tool, it's a local economy killer as these funds cannot be lent out and suck liquidity out of local institutions.
