LEONARD PEIKOFF ON THE DEMOCRAT PARTY VS AMERICA
Leonard Peikoff, was a close associate of Ayn Rand for thirty years, and is the foremost authority on her philosophy of Objectivism. He is author of @OPARAynRand.
Here's what Leonard Peikoff has to say about the Democrat Party in 2026:
@TheDemocrats "talk about CANCELLING THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE specified in the Constitution (which would throw Presidential elections to the large, Democratic-voting proletariat in the big cities)."
"Also: they envision PACKING THE SUPREME COURT to ensure it is an electoral ally or at least non-enemy of theirs."
"Also: they advocate turning two Democratic-voting territories, D.C. and Puerto Rico, into states which immediately puts on their side two EXTRA SENATORS for each state."
"Also: the latest ridiculous Democratic crusade: to ELIMINATE VOTER ID at the polls, which of course would leave endless cheating easy for those so inclined – we could have votes by dead bodies, by people who vote several times, etc. — the door is open to anyone willing to cheat, and surely we don’t have to discuss the Democrats in this regard."

KEY ISSUES IN THE 2026 U.S. MIDTERM ELECTIONS
"There are two ways of looking at the midterms, now less than three weeks away."
"One is as a simple referendum on the issues and politicians of the day. The other involves a far deeper conflict of visions (as Thomas Sowell puts it): socialism versus capitalism, intrusive versus limited government, and the destruction of time-honored institutions and traditions versus their preservation and renewal."
"Rarely in American history have the two parties been so far apart or the choice between them so stark. In brief, Islamist-sympathizing socialism is on the ballot against free-market capitalism and American exceptionalism." — @VDHanson
ISSUES:
Hanson's analysis of some of the issues involved, ranging from the war with Iran to lawfare makes it required reading.
LAWFARE: Democrats plan to devote the next two years to impeaching, investigating, and hounding Trump, his administration, and his family in order to block Republican legislation and paralyze the rest of his presidency.
THE IRAN WAR: The Left treats the low-cost U.S. campaign that has degraded Iran’s nuclear, military, and economic infrastructure as a lost war and would withdraw leaving them free to threaten the Gulf states, Israel, with its terrorist proxies.
ENERGY: Democrats have repeatedly blocked oil and gas leases and pipelines while subsidizing costly solar and wind power and have vowed to phase out natural gas, diesel, and gasoline production as quickly as possible, following the path that has damaged the British and German economies.
IMMIGRATION: The Left seeks to dismantle border enforcement and the wall so that illegal entries return to Biden-era levels of 10,000-plus per day, because it will not shift to fully legal, merit-based immigration that would cut off a supply of future constituents.
FRAUD: Aggregate federal-program fraud approaches $500 billion a year, with widespread welfare and social-services fraud concentrated in high-benefit blue states where it receives little scrutiny because it helps attract voters.
DEI: The contemporary Left treats race, gender, and sexual preference as essential to identity, so a return to power would nullify legal bans on racial preferences, restore race-based admissions and hiring, and revive demands for reparations against those who never practiced slavery.
ISLAMISM: Only a quarter-century after 9/11, the Democratic Party has adopted a philo-Islamist view that treats theocratic Islamism as a legitimate alternative to democratic Israel and Western values, equating Iran with Israel and portraying Hamas as an innocent victim, an alliance whose results are already visible in a burning Paris and earlier in the fall of the Shah.

Trump's version of economy is a "hybrid", as free market policies are applied to only some areas of the economy —notably energy, but still, Trump's version is far superior to that of the anti-capitalist Democrats.

HITLER WAS A SOCIALIST
Why Nazi Germany was a socialist state, not a capitalist one, and why socialism - an economic system based on government ownership of the means of production - requires a totalitarian dictatorship. — @GGReisman

Correct.
The difference is in the FORM of control, not it's SUBSTANCE.
SOCIALISM takes ownership of the means of production to control it; FASCISM allows private ownership on paper but the state still controls how property is used.
Both are properly statism/collectivism, and both socialism and fascism are opposed to free-market capitalism/individualism.
"The Fascists were completely against individualism in general and especially against individualism in a free market economy. Their agenda included minimum wage laws, government restrictions on profit-making, progressive taxation of capital, and “rigidly secular” schools."
...
"Indeed, the whole Fascist economic agenda bears a remarkable resemblance to what liberals would later advocate." — THOMAS SOWELL

Adam Smith's daughter is correct.
If we compared Hitler to today's Left they have much in common.
As for Adolph, "Hitler did not regard himself as being either on the left or on the right, but wanted to overcome both extremes – not in the ‘middle’, however, but by a new extreme in which both were abolished." — @zitelmann_en

HITLER IS A "LEFTIST"
"Nazi Germany was a SOCIALIST state, not a capitalist one. ...Socialism, understood as an economic system based on government ownership of the means of production, positively requires a TOTALITARIAN DICTATORSHIP."

WHY NAZISM WAS SOCIALISM
"The basis of the claim that Nazi Germany was capitalist was the fact that most industries in Nazi Germany APPEARED to be left in private hands."
"What Ludwig Von Mises identified was that private ownership of the means of production existed in NAME only under the Nazis and that the ACTUAL substance of ownership of the means of production resided in the German government. For it was the German government and not the NOMINAL private owners that exercised all of the SUBSTANTIVE powers of ownership: it, not the nominal private owners, decided what was to be produced, in what quantity, by what methods, and to whom it was to be distributed, as well as what prices would be charged and what wages would be paid, and what dividends or other income the nominal private owners would be permitted to receive." — @GGReisman
Hey @Grok, was Hitler a left-wing socialist? Yes or no.
FRENCH RIOTS: BLAME LEFTIST IDEOLOGIES, NOT PRODUCTIVE MIGRANTS
For those who say the riots in France are a "migrant problem" observe that the white generational French blond Lola Fleur Whittaker makes excuses for the riots (French protestors are robbing Apple stores because they are "starving"?), while the black migrant from Africa Jhemima Sheilha whose bakery was thrashed condemns them as terrorism.
It's not your BIRTHPLACE that determines your actions, but the PHILOSOPHY you hold.
Whittaker is a Insoumise activist who describes herself as "Islamogauchiste."
Sheilha is an entrepreneur who rose from poverty to build a bakery.
Capitalism vs. Statism (socialism/ fascism), pick one.
For the actual causes see...
French "Peaceful Student Protest" Riots, Education, and the Racist Road to Barbarism
Originally published in 1990 this essay by @GGReisman, author of the great Capitalism: A Treatise on Economics, is still relevant today. The article’s criticism of United States education system equally applies to Europe if not more so.
Much of the damage is being blamed on migrants, but many of the rioters are French citizens of second and third generation.
What we are seeing is something much deeper than a foreign invasion: the cause is corruption from within by Europe’s own intellectuals.
As philosopher Leonard Peikoff wrote in his book, @OminousParallel:
“The process of spreading a philosophy by means of free discussion among thinking adults is long and complex. From Plato to the present, it has been the dream of social planners to circumvent this process and, instead, to inject a controversial ideology directly into the plastic, unformed minds of children—by means of seizing a country’s educational system and turning it into a vehicle for indoctrination. In this way one may capture an entire generation without intellectual resistance, in a single coup d’école.”
George Reisman's essay is an important salvo in ending that coup.

CAMPAIGN SPENDING IS SPEECH
As long as looters like Democrat Elizabeth Warren want to confiscate the wealth of productive citizens we can expect billionaires to spend money to defend themselves.
If you want to get money out of politics, keep politicians away from other people's money.
