I mean yeah, the BB bat is thinner and ball comes faster but another aspect of cricket is endurance Even in the shortest format. You will stand & bat for 1.5 hours (unless you get out), running in between "bases" and field for another 1.5 hours in the other innings

you will never convince me that hitting is harder in cricket than in baseball. round ball/round bat vs round ball/kayak paddle. i’m not saying i could do it but i just don’t see it as astronomically difficult to hit a ball with the wing of a boeing 767.

In baseball you Obviously aren't gonna try hit a home run every chance, same in cricket, you keep running to tick the scoreboard So yes it is easier to make contact in cricket but doing it after 1.5/3.5/6 hours is a diffrent ball game

I mean the measurements are just as dumb cause can you tell the diffrence between 15 & 14 IVB just off the pitch without graphics Too many names, but stuff like Yorker/googly give you an immediate idea of the type of delivery but you lose information like speed &spin of the ball

The worst part of cricket/baseball discourse is I can’t even say Jacob Misiorowski has 15 inches of induced vertical break and 11 inches of run on his 102 mile per hour fastball because it doesn’t have a stupid name like googly or yorker

My assumption is (only watched a couple baseball games) since the legal area is just a small box the measurements are required Cricket has a wide range of where the ball hits the deck and also how it behaves off it A Yorker is an easy way to tell the ball was aimed at the feet
