immediate parent / teacher conference! but I fear home is also a bird cage because you don’t get this from out of thin air at this age.

My favorite clip from the documentary I Know That Voice. The cast comments on Chris Rock's controversial claim that doing voice-over is easy at 84th Oscars. Here, the latter half of his speech is recreated with animation and Eric Bauza shows us what a REAL voice-actor is like.

No Child Left Behind has been a disaster and we now have kids in university who cant write essays without AI. My controversial opinion is that we need to start failing kids again, holding them back, flunking them, whatever. Consequences are good for you.
HE THOUGHT THE SURVEY WAS THE MIDTERM??
Lazy kid, or did we raise them this way?
A first-year engineering professor says one student sat through her midterm on his phone, left early and turned in nothing. When she asked why, he said he'd done the exam already. He meant the teammate survey. Then he told her he doesn't check his email.
I laughed, and then I stopped laughing.
That kid isn't stupid. He got into engineering school. What he never learned is how to be responsible for himself. Read the syllabus, check your email, and if you're lost, ask somebody.
And notice what he didn't do. He didn't apologize and he didn't ask for a retake. He just stared and waited for her to fix it, because somebody always has.
That one's on us parents. Every time we fill in the planner, email the teacher and rescue the forgotten homework, we're raising this guy.
I'm raising two boys. They will check their own email, and when they fail something on their own, they'll own it on their own.
Give them a phone at 8, and you'd better give them responsibility at 8 too.

This film being the reason seuss’ widow banned the existence of any more live action adaptations is such a shame… this and the live action grinch are some of the most incredible family-genre films ever made???? And the art design of them is so gorgeous???

If you judge this movie on the basis of being an adaption of Cat in the Hat, it's pretty bad
But if you judge it as it's own thing, it's peak in terms of surreal/visual humor. I used to watch it alot as a kid and want to say it's where most my sense of humor comes from.

Watching Horror Movies on AMC as a kid was literally how I got into the genre but watching them on AMC as an adult is actually unwatchable lol. Commercials every 20 minutes, every kill is censored & every curse is bleeped out. r rated movies being edited to be pg for tv.

They unironically took this away from us
Someone should write about the death of children's and teen television. Unlike millennials, Gen Z. does not consume media in a clearly-sanctioned "children's network" such as Disney or Nickelodeon. Kids don't watch that anymore, and those networks have largely stopped producing new episodes of their shows.
They get their entertainment on streaming devices, Youtube, and social media, which have virtually no content guardrails. Young children are consuming extremely age inappropriate content with little oversight.
God Peter David was such a Kind Of Guy (complimentary in this case.) You want to know what people talking Star Trek on GeoCities and Angelfire websites in the mid-90s was like it sounded like this
Just days after her viral encounter with comedian Conan O'Brien took the internet by storm, Brooklyn bar owner Debbie Shields is embracing her newfound fame. CBS News' Jared Ochacher visited her bar, Confessions Bar and spoke to her about her experience.
