Wildlife-hunting communities in Forested Guinea are experiencing ongoing exposure to multiple filoviruses, including Ebola-related viruses, according to a study published by researchers from the Republic of Guinea, UK, US and Singapore.

🧵 What makes an antibody protective against SARS-CoV-2?
Neutralising antibodies get much of the attention - but antibodies can fight viruses in other ways too. In our new study by @caolann_b , we asked whether the antibody Fc region helps explain protection after vaccination.
10/ Conclusion 2:
Together, spike binding antibodies and their Fc characteristics could help capture protection against both severe disease and high viral burden. Understanding these features could help inform the design and evaluation of future SARS-CoV-2 vaccines.
