Of the 63 people on a July 30th deportation flight to Africa, 60 Minutes found that 19% had been charged with or convicted of crimes, including theft, assault, drug offenses and weapons possession. The remaining 81% had either traffic violations or no criminal record at all.

There are a lot of people in this population that we talk about who committed very serious crimes. His father had lived in the U.S. for 25 years and had no criminal record. Moussa Diawara says he was deported without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge. He was eventually sent to Mali, a country a U.S. immigration judge ruled he could not be deported to.

A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him.
Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties.
