It's messed up that they screen for autism and won't let people with a diagnosis fly, but this guy gets a total pass

Just one of the ways we filter for "mental health" that basically involves screening out more vulnerable people but leaving predatory types alone as 'the norm'

Corporate greed is Microsoft making $134 billion in profits last year, receiving $19 billion in tax breaks under Trump, paying a lower federal income tax rate than a nurse and getting rid of 60,000 workers. “Corporations will create jobs if they get tax breaks” is a total scam.

Laika’s ‘Wildwood’ opened to $12.2 million domestically, nearly matching ‘Kubo’ and more than doubling ‘Missing Link.’ Strong audience scores offer encouragement, but the next test is whether word of mouth can give this one legs. cartoonbrew.com/feature-film…

This graph is wild (but feels validating) and I wonder how much it's replicated across various industries?
Microsoft is offering buyouts to 60,000(!) employees. Headcount and revenue growth is really starting to diverge at tech companies.

I don't want to play music off my phone using headphones by some slop manufacturer named Squerkel or Querlitz, I want to buy an iPod Nano from Apple brand in 2008 - 2012 and it lasts for years and is brilliant

I don't want to melt my brain on 2.5 seconds of some random dance routine, ad infinitum; I want to watch every season of Mad Men, Sopranos, and The Wire and it felt like people were really making something of substance

And... I want to read a book on the tube without slop videos or someone barking into a phone being blasted into my vicinity. I'm just saying, we were living better

I heard Palmer Luckey and Alexis Ohanian speak about RETRO earlier this year- Palmer was talking about products and how they used to be- nostalgia, etc... “It’s not because they’re remembering their childhood. It’s not because it harkens back to some earlier time. They’re just literally recognizing it is literally better, some of this old stuff.” Good on Bose!
Retro-tech continues to make a niche comeback Nice to see

Wish I'd lived through the economic boom era instead of the economic cataclysm era, tbh

60k jobs going from Microsoft seems huge. Even spread across multiple countries, that's a massive number, am I right?

This is so great, really, even just having that extra space to spread out the crowd makes it more appealing to go there
A couple of hours in and already people got the message. It's safe to cross the road. No vehicles, no honking horns. Just walk, relax, and shop!

Brilliant news. Now let’s extend it across central London.
🚨 As of 15 minutes ago, no more vehicles are on Oxford Street and it’s officially pedestrianised.

Lol. Actually quite a fascinating example of the simplified, ubiquitous illustration style people love to hate on and how it actually can go wrong sometimes
It took me ages to see the balding man. TfL accidentally created its own version of this image.

With respect, this is why people should pay illustrators *and* give them time to work on things, or you do get miscommunication as a rising risk factor

I'm talking about the TFL tube poster in the quote tweet of my quote tweet, to be clear
