Unless we decolonize and interrogate western mental health with roots in racism & colonialism, the emerging field of Climate Psychology will only re-produce individualistic models (think personal responsibility) vs. transforming systems & healing towards true collective justice.

“This is not a legitimate war. This is a genocidal campaign of extermination,” says Palestinian human rights attorney @4noura as Israel prepares to invade Rafah where millions of displaced people are trapped in Gaza. “This is a genocide. It must be ended. Unequivocally.”
"This Is a Genocide": Palestinian Attorney Noura Erakat
We speak with Palestinian human rights attorney Noura Erakat about the ongoing Israel war on Gaza amid growing concern that Israel will launch a full ground assault on Rafah.

The Israeli military is bombing Rafah, the most densely populated area in the world, while Americans watch the Super Bowl. This is intentional. This is genocide.
We're demanding the world watching the #superbowl turn their eyes to #Rafah. #alleyesongaza #CeasefireNOW

Great news! The new platform from the original creator of Twitter - blue sky - is now open. Run, don’t walk, over there for an active & thriving science community with the kind of discussions that used to occur here back in the day. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Here’s me ⬇️

How do we write meaningfully about anti-colonial praxis when there is a g3noc!de + so many examples of colonial violence around us? I had the privilege of reflecting on this tension with incredible First Nations and majority-world researchers to conclude this book (submitted!) 1/
Same. We will have a nearly brown Christmas. My nephew is disappointed that Uncle can’t make him the snow fort they had planned. Least of our worries for the current future. ❄️

As BC's Human Rights Commissioner, I am disturbed by news of hate fueled marches planned for Sept. 20. Peaceful demonstration is an important tool to protect democracy and generate debate. But I want to be very clear: the human rights of LGBTQ2SAI+ people are not up for debate.

Build your brand in public.
We live in 2023, not 1923. You can iterate faster than any time in history.
1. Test your messaging
2. Pay attention to what resonates
3. Listen to the audience you start building
4. Incorporate words and phrases they use

People vote against mainstream green policy because they fear it will exacerbate their economic insecurity, which is pervasive under capitalism. If you want green policy to succeed you have to abolish economic insecurity. Universal public services, a job guarantee, living wages.
