Earlier today we celebrated music and musicians at a St Cecilia Day service here in the Abbey.
The service was sung jointly by the choirs of Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral and St Paul's Cathedral, and among the music was a new Anthem for St Cecilia's Day by Piers Connor Kennedy, and a special performance by soprano Sophie Bevan.
You can read more and see pictures from the service at: westminster-abbey.org/abbey-β¦

I grew up among horses and still remember what they taught me.

ALT Lessons from Horses Wake early. Surrender only to a kind man's hands, a rider who has wildness inside her. Open the gate with your own strength and let death nuzzle your life at times like a foal that knows the way, that makes you live. Listen. Love is someone braiding your long dark hair and letting it untangle when the someone goes. Open. Go slow. Go whollyβ and remember, with all of you, remember: tenderness is not brokenness. A tender thing is not a broken thing. βJoseph Fasano

It cannot be November without Anne (of Green Gables, of course).
This painting makes me think of her.

I had a fabulous evening at the opening night of Bloody Mary and the Nine Day Queen at the Union Theatre in Southwark. Written by Gareth Hides with Anna Unwin, itβs an absolute triumph, telling the story of the two women who vied to be Englandβs first crowned reigning Queen. I very much recommend it - itβs running until 29 October and tickets available here: uniontheatre.biz/whats-on/
Thanks for inviting me along!
