Iโm watching a Protestant service on TV. So far Thereโs a rock band on. A preacher came out and asked the congregation for 10% of their money. Now thereโs a smoke machine. Preacher is yelling at the congregation about tithing again. Now heโs reading one of Paulโs epistles. He butchering the interpretation. Now heโs doing an emotional manipulative altar call asking if youโve accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and savior. My take: the gospel isnโt preached here. Just a bunch of modern rituals meant to get people to give them money. Seems more like a ponzi scheme than a church.

Strange to say, it was to him that I ultimately owe my own conversion. At an early age he convinced me of two seemingly self-evident propositions: that truth is true, and not relative, and that two contrary statements cannot both be true. From there to the Catholic Faith it is a long road, but a sure one.

Looked at from the point of view of scripture and Church history, what we are seeing is the natural punishment for apostasy. And that punishment will intensify until people stop deluding themselves that there is any solution, political or otherwise, short of a return to the faith

If there's a fake Christianity out there, my money's on the one encouraging its followers not to get baptized, not to help the poor, not to worry that their sins could jeopardize their salvation, and ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ง๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐ฆ๐ญ๐บ not to listen to anything the Catholic Church has to say.
