In The Passion of the Christ (like the Gospels), Jesus is accused of claiming to be the Messiah, Son of God, Bread of Life, etc. But none of these warranted death until He claimed to be the Son of Man coming on the clouds of glory. Son of Man is Jesus’ clear claim to Divinity.

As is often the case in breaking news, the truth slowly comes out. Today we learn directly from the organizers of the TLM pilgrimage that when they could not get Saint Peter’s basilica… “permission was sought and gained for a Prelatial (Pontifical) Low Mass in St Mary Major.” So unlike what so many bloggers, podcasters, journalists, and rage baiters claimed, this was NOT a last-minute change but something that was known since August. Respect to those who have already corrected what they previously posted and shame on those who have not. I’ll also note, since I shared early on that events on their official website were still incorrect a day before the pilgrimage began (and many of these same people, including a priest involved said I was lying about that when it was updated the following day) the organizers also said this… “The SP website was based on what happened last year. The problem was that as things were confirmed, very late in the day, they were contirmed as being different trom what they expected, and the website was not updated. So I now understand.”

God bless these Orthobros and Catholics standing up against this blasphemer and desecrator.
4 Orthodox with pictures, 2 Catholics with rosary, 1 Baptist with Bible… I wonder who the real one is….

You heard it from @Acts17David. If you want to solve the “canon conundrum”, you look to the Catholic Church.
David Wood embarrasses Jay Dyer for boasting that his Church compiled the canon, by pointing out that his (Dyer's) Church has different canons. Wood continue saying that if he want to get an official closed canon he has to go to the Catholic.

More lies and cope. Antiunionist chronicler Syropoulos litr testified that there was no coercion no bribes and the Greeks were 'perfectly free in speaking and acting.' Further if there was coercion mark wouldnt go back home with no issues and spew his satanic words
Orthobros lie and say that because Mark refused then all the Sees he "represented" refused Florence. This couldn't be further from the truth and relies on an his brother's apologetics which is directly refuted, among other things, by the emperor shutting Mark down in real time.

you’re lying. Isidore of Kiev (Metropolitan of Kiev & all Rus) signed the Union of Florence, was made a cardinal by the Pope, and publicly proclaimed the union in Moscow in 1441. Pretending “nobody signed” is just false. They gave you a pisspoor history education too.

People need to stop slandering the Vatican unless they have proof of wrongdoing.
I'm so glad we finally have the actual Vatican letter so everyone can see just how terribly the organizers were treated. Here's what it says: "Reverend Father, In response to your letter of September 8 concerning the international Ad Petri Sedem pilgrimage, I inform you that it is not possible to grant your request. Please accept, Reverend Father, the expression of my religious and devoted sentiments. † Paolo Rudelli" That's it. Now, a few things worth noting... First, we haven't seen the September 8 letter. We don't know exactly what was requested. Permission for the Mass? The procession? Use of a particular altar? We simply don't know. Second, this pilgrimage was planned a year ago, yet the request referenced in this letter was dated SEPTEMBER 8. That's just six weeks before the pilgrimage. Third, the Vatican responded on SEPTEMBER 30. Just 22 days later. So this was not a last-minute decision made two days before the pilgrimage. The Vatican had issued its response more than three weeks earlier. I've been organizing pilgrimages for two decades. Even when I'm bringing just 20 people, I often have to make requests six to nine months in advance. And I'm certainly not requesting a procession of hundreds of people or use of the Altar of the Chair. The timing raises serious questions about how this was planned and communicated by the organizers. But this letter does not establish that the Vatican mistreated anyone. If the organizers have earlier correspondence showing what they requested, when they requested it, and how the Vatican responded, I'd genuinely like to see it. Until then, what we actually have is a September 8 request and a September 30 response. Twenty-two days. And anyone who regularly deals with Vatican offices knows that's a remarkably quick turnaround.

Good grief. Again, I attend the TLM in Rome with the ICKSP and with the FSSP when I'm in the States. I have attended this TLM pilgrimage many times over the years. I am NOT a journalist or blogger who gets paid to rage. I am, however, someone who has been organizing pilgrimages like this for decades and knows exactly how the Vatican and the churches work. The news over the last few days is that the TLM pilgrimage Mass was not allowed in Saint Peter's Basilica, that the Vatican threw together an event to block them, that the group was denied entry into the basilica to pray, and that they were only allowed one hour at Saint Mary Major at the last minute, with no photos. Let me break this down... Celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis were being planned as early as 2021. Meetings took place with Pope Francis in 2022 to discuss the events. In January 2025, the Italian government met with Vatican officials to plan the events. In January 2026, Vatican News referenced planned events to take place throughout the year. So despite what some are saying, the Franciscan event that is happening today was not thrown together to block this Mass at the last minute. In fact, this event coincides with a huge event that starts tomorrow in Assisi, where 5,000 people have registered and which Pope Leo was originally scheduled to attend. When the organizers requested the Mass for this day, they were told the altar was already reserved and offered another day or another location. They chose another location, Saint Mary Major. No scandal. As for the procession, the group was not banned from entering. They were not allowed to process in. They could not carry their flags and banners and would have to enter through security like everyone else. If you check the photos, you'll see that the line at that time was over an hour long. So if they arrived at their scheduled time of 1 p.m., it would have been difficult to get through security and across town in time for their 3 p.m. Mass. 👏🏻 Props to the PR people who positioned the group for a photo in front of the walls set up for construction of the Nativity scene instead of moving them over a few feet for an unobstructed view of the basilica! 👏🏻 Last year, we were able to process in because there was a dedicated entrance for the Jubilee with very little wait. Anyone could process in (unfortunately), which is why we ended up with some inappropriate processions. But that was an exception during the Jubilee. Normally, groups cannot just process beyond the piazza, as was the case today. As for the Mass at Saint Mary Major, they allow one hour for Mass. I have been here with cardinals leading pilgrimages of hundreds of people. Do you know how much time they were allowed for Mass? One hour. Saint Mary Major says on their Mass reservation form and in their confirmation emails that private groups are allowed one hour. Could they have made an exception? Sure, but they don't usually for cardinals bringing busloads of people, so why would they here? And for the photos during Mass, permission to use a professional photographer has to be requested well in advance. Did the organizers know this and make the proper request? I don't know. Professional photos on Vatican property, including Saint Peter's Basilica, Saint Peter's Square, Saint Mary Major, Saint John Lateran, Saint Paul Outside the Walls, and the Scala Santa, require special permission. I've been making these requests for years. It's simple, but getting a reply takes time. It is the Vatican, after all. So perhaps they did not have permission or even ask for permission. There is plenty to question in the Church, but if you're not looking for clicks, this looks more like poor planning and poor communication, possibly on both sides, than some grand conspiracy.

Those raised in the same household can rightly be called brothers, even if they are extended family (Gen 13:8, Abraham & Lot). After Joseph and Clopas died, the Virgin Mary and Other Mary (John 19:25) combined households, allowing Jesus to grow up with His cousins as brothers.
Hey Catholics, Greek has a word for cousin (anepsios), and guess what? It’s never used to describe Jesus brothers.

So far, I think Catholic Twitter acts more like a group of young people in a bar having a few drinks, while Orthodox twitter felt a lot more like a weird group of incels who all think they are the smartest guy at the table. Both sides suffer from anime people though.

Orthodox: Show me the Pope acting alone. Catholic: What do you mean by “acting alone”? Orthodox: I mean what Vatican I dogmatized. Catholic: Did Vatican I dogmatize a Pope who acts in opposition to the bishops and the Church? Orthodox: Yes. Show me that. Catholic: That is not what Vatican I defined. Orthodox: Then you cannot prove Vatican I. Catholic: I cannot prove your misreading of Vatican I. The Popes did not act alone in the sense of acting against the bishops. Orthodox: So you have no examples? Catholic: If I produced an example of the Pope acting in opposition to the Church and prevailing, that would falsify the doctrine rather than prove it. Vatican I teaches that the head and the members cannot be separated in the faith. Orthodox: Then you cannot show it. That ends the argument. Catholic: After the Lateran Synod of 649, Pope Martin sent an encyclical to the whole Church binding it to the dyothelite faith. Orthodox: But the East did not accept it, so it does not count. Catholic: The Formula of Hormisdas bound the East a century earlier. Orthodox: The East accepted it, and that is when it became binding. Catholic: Those are precisely the kinds of acts Vatican I had in view. On your reading, every historical example is either “the Pope did not act alone” or “it only became binding when the bishops accepted it.” The standard is constructed so that no evidence can ever satisfy it. Orthodox: Debate Jay Dyer.

World Orthodoxy treats TOs the same way. World Orthodoxy will not "rebaptize" Protestants, Roman Catholics, etc, but insist on "rebaptizing" "schismatics". Are Prots and Papists not schismatics?

St Peter’s Basilica remains unconquered; the Hagia Sophia is now a mosque. The Catholic Church conquered the Roman Empire; the Ottoman Empire conquered the East. Christ promised that hell shall not prevail against the Rock of the Church. And so it hasn’t, where Peter is, in Rome.

“Which Orthodox Church” bros are so vindicated right now
The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) has officially mandated the rebaptism of Ukrainian Orthodox Christians and banned them the use of the Ukrainian language in divine services. On October 22, the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church approved a document titled "Guidelines for the Reception of Individuals from Ukrainian Schismatic Structures Wishing to Join the Russian Orthodox Church." It applies to people in Russian-occupied territories who were previously affiliated with the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC), the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate (UOC-KP), or the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). The document outlines three procedures for joining the ROC. Notably, it stipulates that individuals baptized within the OCU, UOC-KP, or UAOC must undergo the Sacrament of Baptism again to join the ROC. Different rules apply to those originally baptized within the ROC, the Roman Catholic Church, or a Protestant denomination. Regarding the accession of entire congregations to the ROC, the document states that such a community may not demand a distinct liturgical order or a special administrative status. Furthermore, the use of any language other than Church Slavonic in divine services is prohibited—even though the ROC elsewhere permits the use of various other languages, ranging from English to Japanese.
