Some view contemporary publishing as a conspiracy to keep male authors off shelves. The simpler explanation is that bookstores and publishers like money and they've fine-tuned their offerings to serve the readers that buy the most books.

I think the guy flipping burgers at McDonald’s should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That’s kind of the whole point of having a job and I can’t believe this is considered a radical position for me to take.

Trump didn't do all this damage on his own. He had help from the entire Republican Party. Make all of them pay at the ballot box on November 3rd.

How recently women got rights you probably assumed we’ve always had:
1910 - Women could wear pants
1920 - White women could vote
1963 - Women gained equal pay rights (sort of)
1965 - Black women could vote
1969 - Women could initiate divorce
1972 - Women could get birth control without a man's permission
1973 - Women could get an abortion, legally
1974 - Women were allowed to open up a bank account, loan or credit card without a man’s name attached to it
1988 - Women could own their own business
1994 - Women gained legal protection against domestic abuse
2022 - Women lost the constitutional right to abortion
We’re going backwards. Anyone who doesn’t see it that way is a fucking idiot.
So nice to see efforts to actually educate American people rather than make them dumber.

10 Hills I’ll die on:
- Big corporations shouldn’t be able to buy elections
- A good education shouldn’t just be for rich kids
- Getting sick shouldn’t mean going broke
- We should invest in child care like we do our roads and libraries
- Billionaires should pay their fair share so everyone else gets a fair shot
- Homes are for people, not corporations
- Abortion is health care
- Americans should not have to subsidize the cost of data centers
- No one should be able to use public office to make themselves richer
- We need to put put power back in the hands of working people

A pack of aging white guys with maybe a decade left are torching the Earth for a pile of money they will never get to spend, and everyone just shrugs like that is normal.
Duke's is the best! Kewpie Mayonnaise also has no added sugar, but uses egg yolks rather than whole eggs.
Duke's mayonnaise has no sugar in it, and Hellmann's and Kraft both do. Duke's lists soybean oil, eggs, water, distilled and cider vinegar, salt, oleoresin paprika, natural flavors and calcium disodium EDTA. Hellmann's Real lists sugar right after the salt, and Kraft Real Mayo lists it first in its under 2% group.
The sugar is allowed. FDA's standard for mayonnaise requires at least 65% vegetable oil by weight, plus egg and an acid like vinegar or lemon juice, and it lists sugar and other sweeteners as optional. Neither brand uses much. Both labels show 0g of carbohydrate per tablespoon.
Duke's credits the cider vinegar for its tang, and with no sugar in the jar there's nothing sweet to soften it. The recipe goes back to 1917, when Eugenia Duke was selling sandwiches in Greenville, South Carolina.
Looking forward to this book!

My argument is simple: people who say they want to see a return of American manufacturing don't actually vote with their dollar. Let me show you. 🧵
Replying to @dieworkwear
Based on your logic we should just give up local manufacturing and send everything overseas because child labor is cheaper than US labor? That we don’t need to manufacture anything locally? That’s quite a ignorant argument
How come every other country has protectionism?
