Agri-food is one of five sectors highlighted in the Chamber/PwC_Canada report. The report argues that Canada can capture more value by moving beyond commodity exports and expanding domestic food processing and value-added ingredient production. For Canada's sugar sector, this reinforces the importance of investment in domestic sugar refining and food-processing capacity creating more value and economic growth at home.
The world is looking for secure energy, critical minerals, food, defence capabilities and advanced technologies. Canada is strong in all five.  Our new report with @PwC_Canada looks at what it will take to turn that global demand into growth here at home: hubs.ly/Q04y2gWR0

As a competitive supplier of a value added ingredient, the emphasis on strengthening domestic food processing capacity aligns closely with the sugar sector's interest in maintaining a competitive food manufacturing base and encouraging future investment.
Canada's largest manufacturing industry is food & beverage manufacturing. 🇨🇦 $188B in revenues. $35.1B in GDP. 318,000+ jobs. Our new CAPI report identifies up to $75.1B in additional cumulative real GDP by 2035. fbc-abc.com/canada-could-unl…
