Wonderful afternoon with a team from the @CentumCares to advance a five-year strategic partnership for the "Friends of Mount Kenya" Initiative, working alongside the @KWSKenya to advance our destination Magical Kenya. This framework aims to transform Africa's second-highest peak—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and vital water catchment—into a globally competitive adventure tourism destination through public-private and community support to upgrade our trail networks and signage, improve sanitation and visitor amenities, bolster high-altitude safety and emergency rescue capabilities, and expand capacity building for local guides and porters. Such initiatives seek to protect Mount Kenya's delicate ecosystem while driving local job creation, community empowerment, and economic growth across the region.
