As many expected, the Bank of England has increased rates from 0.5% to 0.75% and for those of us that have a variable or tracker rate mortgage, we will soon receive a letter from our lender detailing the rise in monthly payments.

However, as this rise was so widely expected, most lenders have not adjusted their fixed rate products and very competitive deals remain for those wishing to fix their outgoings for 2,3,5, and even 10 years.
