🗳️ House Democrats are flooded with calls urging them not to make House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries speaker, lawmakers and aides told Axios.
One incoming member is "getting inundated," with "about 150" calls. A senior Democrat got "over 500" in two days. "It's our No. 1 issue, and it's not close," said another. A chief of staff said: "Lots of people are saying make Jamie Raskin speaker."
Much of it traces to actor Mark Ruffalo's post linking a Change(dot)org petition for "a new speaker," which had 912,652 verified signatures as of 2:50 p.m. ET.
Jeffries is still favored to win. Rep. Sam Liccardo (D-Calif.) said anyone talking about a challenger "is just selling tickets to a circus with no tent."

A nuclear armed Iran would bring stability to the region and without a doubt to the markets. The biggest crisis would be for the profits of western oil companies.
So much of what is plaguing the country is people stressing over medical debt or deciding to pay for meds or rent. The correct supposition that the health care industry is only motivated by profits leads people to believe all sorts of far fetched conspiracy theories.
This is a great reason why Jefferies can't be speaker. The American people have suffered greatly due to the crimes and corruption of the Trump administration and there need to be consequences.

I don't understand how she's down nine points. All she ever suggests is common sense solutions like teachers should be able to peel bananas for their students, schools should be able to choose any apple they like for lunch, we should kill all the seals.
