Let’s talk about burnout.
The World Health Organization defines burnout as a result of chronic workplace stress that hasn’t been successfully managed. It can lead to exhaustion, detachment from work, and reduced effectiveness.
When your usual coping strategies stop working, look beyond individual stress management. Review workloads, competing priorities and available resources. Research found burnout rates were lower in workplaces prioritizing prevention than in those taking no action.
Show some Prairie small businesses some love this weekend! Small businesses are part of what makes our communities feel like home.
As #smallbusinessweek comes to an end, let’s show the people behind them that their hard work matters.
🌾 Help a local business get discovered before winter sets in. Share a photo of a favourite local product, write a specific review about what made your experience memorable, or introduce a small business to someone who hasn’t discovered it yet.
🤝 A reminder: your network is one of your greatest business assets.
Across the Prairies, small & medium-sized businesses account for 99.8% of businesses and 88% of employment. That’s a massive, regional network!
And you don’t have to leave your location to celebrate Small Business Week!
Here are a few ways to make connections:
This #SmallBusinessWeek celebrate what you’ve built — and the people who help you build it. When Prairie businesses support one another, our whole business community benefits.

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. Across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, they contribute to economic growth, employment, and the long-term vitality of our communities.
This week, consider how you can strengthen the businesses in your own community — whether that means choosing a local provider, making a strategic referral, or bringing greater visibility to a business whose work deserves to be recognized.
This weekend, make a little room for friendship. Call someone you’ve been meaning to catch up with, invite a friend for coffee, plan a walk together, or take time to strengthen the relationships that make you feel supported and understood.
Your friendships are good for your mental health. 👯♂️
Research continues to highlight the powerful connection between meaningful relationships and our well-being.
