Welcome to the UK. A fully developed country where hard working people with full time jobs are still struggling to survive. We’re taxed on just about everything, income tax, council tax, VAT, National Insurance, fuel duty, inheritance tax, road tax, TV licence and more. Meanwhile, bills keep going up, rent has skyrocketed, and homes that used to cost around £800 a month can now easily be £1,500 or more. Even popping to the supermarket for a few essentials can somehow cost £50–£100. Two bags of groceries and your bank account is wondering what just happened. People aren’t struggling because they buy the occasional coffee or have Netflix. People are struggling because almost everything has become ridiculously expensive while wages haven’t kept up.

What a week. Smashed the 37th @marathonDsables The toughest week of my life. 40 degrees plus, jebels, sand dunes, 250km & rationed food & water. Tent 137 absolutely crushed it. Met the most incredible people and we’ve now raised £11k for @DallaglioRW and @GreenhouseSport #MDS23

1/ The @BritAthletics policy of only taking medalists and top 8 athletes is going to hinder not only an athletes development but also their chance to become full time athletes. I know that their policy standard (for a lot of events) is based on the IAAF standard.
