My initial Tweet will provide a look at the failure of the global models which drive too much of "global science". Thank you Dr. Spencer.

This is “Garbage in ….. toxic, putrid garbage out” They know this is not scientifically justifiable and yet …..
This graph is scientific garbage masquerading as precision. You're comparing modern temperature measurements with geological proxies from 56 to 252 MILLION years ago, pretending they have comparable temporal resolution. They don't. Mass spectrometers measure isotope ratios, not ancient temperatures or dates. Geological records smooth out rapid changes, and sampling resolution isn't chronological accuracy. No error bars. No meaningful uncertainty. No accounting for geological smoothing. And the cherry on top? They use RCP8.5, an extreme emissions scenario whose plausibility as a business-as-usual future has been seriously challenged in the scientific literature, to project warming thousands of years into the future. So we have ancient proxy records with enormous uncertainties compared against modern instruments and an implausible high-end projection. This isn't evidence of unprecedented warming. It's a textbook example of how to manufacture a terrifying graphic by ignoring uncertainty, mixing incompatible resolutions, and choosing an extreme scenario.

And coal. Lots of coal. So much coal that China will, again, consume this year more than every other nation combined.

Wow. This is criminal. 15% spent on the charitable mandate for bridges and the rest on other stuff….
Libs in the comments are totally fine with the charity named and created for maintaining bridges having their annual spending look like this. Has completely lost its way.

And how many “green energy” and NetZero schemes would have the political class steered the money into - only to watch the returns stagnate and/or decline over time Not sure what is worse - that …. Or the UK pissing away North Sea benefits the way they did
‘We'd have a British sovereign wealth fund now that will be worth probably a trillion pounds’ Chancellor @JohnHealey_MP suggests what Britain could have gained if it had set up an energy wealth fund like Norway’s back in the 1980s #Peston

And it really was entirely unnecessary Writing was in the wall when UK decided to shut down all its NG storage, refused to allow onshore gas development, and has kept even offshore gas in limbo
🚨Sneaked out by OFGEM this morning, a warning for the first time EVER they cannot guarantee that demand will be met on a peak day in winter. Let’s be clear what that means. They cannot guarantee that homes will be warm, lights come on or industry function on a peak day this winter. And why? Because of an accelerated decline in domestic gas supply from the North Sea. So what is the solution? For British bill payers to pay more, to IMPORT more from Europe (specifically Belgium) to keep the lights on in Britain. Britain. A country with vast supplies of gas, untapped, deliberately due to Labour policy now going cap in hand to Europe and paying vast sums to import foreign gas. It is utterly outrageous. You couldn’t make it up. ofgem.gov.uk/sites/default/f…

Which is why CapEx spending continues to fall. And that will impair future growth prospects and job opportunities cksaksens.com/global/en-gb/u…
British businesses are cutting costs and eating into their profit margins to cope with rising energy costs, the Bank of England governor has warned. Andrew Bailey said that UK firms were taking measures such as reducing their headcounts and not passing on the higher costs of energy to their customers. Net Zero is crippling British industry. #CostOfNetZero

Borderline criminal …. They are ripping off the UK ratepayers and taxpayers to the tune of Billions and they are using accounting gimmicks to make Brits believe they are “fighting climate change” Bollucks!!
UK 🇬🇧 The Drax net zero con-trick - where a massive polluter has become a net zero manipulator. Yet more net zero environmental destruction masquerading as “saving the planet”. The Labour government is trying to force through an extension that would give Drax an estimated £1.8bn in taxpayer funded subsidies on top of the £11bn it has already received. Drax has burned an amount of wood equivalent to 300 million trees. Burning wood creates 18% more CO2 emissions than coal. And here’s the con trick: Drax is a sneaky way of exporting our CO2 emissions. We pay billions of pounds to cut down ancient forests in the US and Canada, ship the wood across the Atlantic in diesel tankers, then burn it in a Yorkshire-based power station. And here’s the kicker - the CO2 emissions tally is not counted against the country that burns it, but the country that grows it. So Drax emissions are counted against the countries who grow and export the wood for Drax - like Canada and USA…not UK who burn it. So the UK can reduce CO2 figures by importing the burning wood grown elsewhere. A gigantic net zero con-trick.

Excellent piece outlining what is going on behind the curtain Perhaps Spain was only the appetizer and the UK this winter will be the main lesson in how to mismanage a modern electricity grid …. Certainly looks that way
My @thetimes column: Four/five incidents in 2 weeks on the UK electricity grid. We’re begging France for power. Why are the grid bosses gaslighting us? times-comment.com/72547570

Good piece by @energy_said on battery backup between wind and solar Solar (relatively) more reliable generation means smaller battery reqd BUT ... note that many solar locations go days without generation as well. Have to plan for worst outcome - solar not much better really

There are not any so-called “fingerprints” of man-made global warming. None. All warming, natural or man-made, looks about the same. Scientists claim to have found “fingerprints” that are “consistent with” man-made global warming, but they fail to mention that said patterns are also “consistent with” natural variability. For instance, natural global warming would cause the poles to warm faster than the mid-latitudes and tropics. That would occur due to insolation changes and it would occur due to natural reductions in cloud cover increasing the amount of absorbed solar radiation, which would increase the humidity and higher water vapor concentrations would cause cold, dry regions to warm faster. The same effect would cause nights to warm faster than days. And while an increase in insolation can be ruled out as the cause of global warming, natural reductions in cloud cover cannot be ruled out. Cloud albedo has decreased in recent decades. It is often assumed that said reduction is a positive feedback response to global warming, but it may actually be a cause.

Judith Curry is one of the most important heroes of intellectual integrity of the past 20 years. I began following her when she was celebrated by the mainstream establishment while commenting on technical climate blogs. She was invariably fair minded and balanced in her replies and consideration of evidence. Her own blog, started later, has some of the most thoughtful commentary on the challenges of climate science and climate policy. Her book is the single best overview of the challenges inherent in both.

Energy companies are coming to terms with their failed grifter plans…. Now if governments would also recognize their policies have raised the cost of energy and incentivized piss-poor capital allocation …..maybe we can have more rational global energy development
BP announced this morning write downs of as much as $4.5 billion linked to its failed investments in green energy (to be fully disclosed during 3Q earnings)

The dark side of green ideology. The absolute adherence to policies that require one to discount human life. It’s evil.
We need to find out who is responsible.

Always was a fairy tale … told by unethical grifters, reiterated by elected fools, believed by a naive public, paid for by gullible taxpayers
Shell's biofuels flagship just hit reality. In Rotterdam, Shell was building what was meant to be Europe's largest biofuel plant at a cost of €1.2 billion. The annual output target was 820,000 tons of so-called "sustainable" aviation fuel and "renewable" diesel. The feedstock was supposed to be used frying oil, vegetable oils and animal waste. The sales pitch was "clean aviation." Then... construction costs soared and demand stayed weak. So Shell paused the project. Then killed it. 3,000 piles went into the ground, millions of work hours spent, hundreds of millions of euros already sunk. Now the unfinished plant is up for sale, set to either be dismantled, shipped abroad or sold for parts. That is the biofuels fairy tale.

These institutions have become so infested with the politics of "climate" that there is no solution except burning them down and starting over When the conflicts and the money become so "normal" that they don't even try to hide it... its time to go thefirebreak.org/p/a-downfal…

A new study shows the North Atlantic is at its coldest point in 9,000 years. Researchers used a finely layered Chinese stalagmite (a natural rain recording climate tape) to track North Atlantic temperatures. When the ocean cools and sea ice grows, the Asian monsoon weakens and the stalagmite's chemistry shifts. It's a direct proxy. The results show a nine millennia cooling trend, with the coldest values in the last 200 years. The record captures the big cold events of the past, all driven by orbital cycles, sea ice feedbacks and internal ocean variability, say the researchers, not CO2. The slight warming observed since the 1800s didn't start from normal. It started from the coldest North Atlantic baseline in 9,000 years.

Hey @howardlutnick … Are you aware that NOAA is removing public access to all the long dated tide gauge data? While it’s fine to focus on other data sets, why are they suppressing anyone from seeing this anymore? Are they going to stop taking measurements too? Why?
If @NOAA wants to focus on another data set for its purposes - fine But why do they need to remove access to this data from the public? There is only one reason to do so…. Someone in NOAA doesn’t like what it says and doesn’t want it shown anymore @ChrisMartzWX
