Let's be real.
Educators keep saying test scores don't tell the whole story. They're right, but not the way they mean it.
Illiteracy is generational.
When Mama and Daddy struggled to read, the kids inherit that struggle. It's intergenerational, and it passes down at the kitchen table before a child ever walks into a classroom.
You can't fix it with a new curriculum alone you fix it by getting parents reading, getting families involved, and getting the home back in the education business.
Schools can't carry this by themselves. Literacy starts at home.

He walked into the interrogation room as a suspect in a shooting. He walked out having given detectives a masterclass in how to handle the police.
This is the story of rapper DaBaby — one of the very few people who left an interrogation in a better position than when he walked in.
Most suspects make the same fatal mistake: they start talking. They justify themselves, get tangled up, contradict themselves — and dig their own grave.
DaBaby did the exact opposite: — stayed calm under pressure; — never let them rattle him; — controlled every single word; — and walked out of the station a free man.
The detectives used every classic trick — pressure, long pauses, bluffs. None of it worked.
This is a rare case where the suspect was smarter than the people on the other side of the table.
