Not all fat is created equally of course. We recommend traditional fat from pasture-raised and wild animal sources such as butter, lard, tallow, suet, duck fat, schmatz, as well as cod liver and skate liver oils. We don't recommend fish oils, only fish liver oils bit.ly/avoidfishoil. We also recommend coconut oil, olive oil, and certain brands of red palm oil such as bit.ly/redpalmoilrecommendat…. We don't recommend avocado oil and include a link that explains why louisawilliamsnd.com/post/wh… We also link to our yearly pamphlet with brand recommendations for real food that you can take with you as you shop bit.ly/shopwisetraditions. It is sent to all members and available for non-members to purchase for a nominal fee. Sally Fallon Morell was interviewed by Jared St. Clair of the Vitality Radio Podcast: apple.co/4ipPIFV. They discuss how raw milk and other real foods have made a comeback!

Kim Tae Ri's Q&A Interview expressing her journey and gratitude for drama #JeongNyeon_TheStarisBorn Q: How do you feel about finishing 'Jeong Nyeon'? Taeri: It's a near-impossible challenge with all Sori and stage acting, four large stages, and 1950s as the historical background, and the drama that was miraculously created like that, received much love from viewers in a short period of time. I would like to first express my endless gratitude to the viewers, and I would also like to express my warm gratitude to all production staff and actors who had the courage to create this drama and created the miracle."

Butter is made from simple, natural ingredients and is full of nutrients like healthy fats and vitamins. Seed oils, on the other hand, are heavily processed and lack nutrition. Choose real, nourishing foods like butter! 🧈🌿 #ButterIsBetter #RealFood #DitchSeedOils

This is a story of a return to wise traditions in how to farm. Will Harris of White Oak Pastures will present at our 2024 Wise Traditions Conference that'll be held in Orlando, Florida October 25–27. Learn about Will and our conference: bit.ly/willharriswisetraditi… Will and his father used pesticides, herbicides, hormones and antibiotics to raise cattle They also fed their herd a diet of corn and soy. These tools took the cost out of the system, but over time Will became disenchanted with the excesses of these industrialized methods. They had created a monoculture for their cattle and, as Will says, "nature abhors a monoculture." In 1995, Will made the audacious decision to farm as his family had 130 years before. Since Will has successfully implemented this transformation he has become as a leader in humane animal husbandry and environmental sustainability. Will has written a book we recommend: amzn.to/3Wls0Ah "If I could have one wish it is that every eater in America would read this book." —Ruth Reichl

"Is this too much butter for my toast?" asks Jannah on X formerly Twitter. We don't think so! Tandsmør is a Danish word that means “tooth butter.” It refers to butter spread so thick on a piece of bread it leaves tooth marks. While this butter isn’t spread on bread, the word comes to mind! We recommend raw and/or cultured butter from pasture-raised cows. Alternatively, pasteurized butter, from pasture-raised cows. This month we're focused on the seventh of our 11 Wise Traditions Dietary Principles: enjoy saturated fat and avoid industrial seed oils. Learn more via campsite.bio/westonaprice!

The teeth tell the tale ... and a picture—or three—is worth a thousand words! These photos captured by Dr. Weston A. Price illustrate what he discovered wherever he went in the 1930's in his quest to learn what a healthy diet is. Traditional diets of those he observed varied quite a bit, but there were no industrially processed foods of any kind in any of them. The first photo is of those on their traditional diet in Africa with wide palettes and healthy teeth. The second photo is of those who started on a traditional diet and as such still had wide faces, but later incorporated so-called modern foods that led to the destruction to their teeth. The third photo is of boys who were born to parents who had replaced their traditional diet with a modern diet that included refined sugar, white flour, vegetable oils (primarily cottonseed oil, which is of course a seed oil), canned fruits and vegetables and canned and condensed milk. This list of what Price referred to as the "displacing foods of modern commerce" is relatively short in comparison to what is on our shelves today. Notice how narrow the faces have become, and the crowded, crooked teeth with overbites. They were the second generation on a modern diet. We link to the succinct article "The Teeth Tell the Tale" via campsite.bio/westonaprice that is published on Nourishing Our Children's website, one of our projects! Go read it! We also recommend you purchase and read Dr. Weston A. Price seminal book "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" that we link to as well. Photos courtesy of the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation

Has this happened to you or someone you know? Your doctor tells you that you need to lower your cholesterol or risk heart disease, a heart attack, or a stroke. You've been lied to about raw milk. It is most certainly for human consumption, but many of us buy it for our pets in certain states as well. Wink! Repost from Anya Vein on Facebook: "Raw milk is packed with all the essential fat-soluble vitamins and minerals in their natural, easily absorbable forms. It contains important minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, sodium, and sulfur, along with 24 trace minerals that are vital for our health. The best part? All of these nutrients are 100% bioavailable! Raw milk also contains all 60 known enzymes, which play a crucial role in digestion and help release key minerals for our bodies to utilize. These enzymes even protect the milk from harmful pathogens, making it safer to consume. Unfortunately, when milk is pasteurized, less than 10% of these enzymes remain! On the other hand, pasteurized milk is considered "dead milk" because the heating process kills off lactase, making it difficult for many people to digest lactose. It also destroys beneficial bacteria, enzymes, and nutrients. Heat can have a significant impact on the vitamin content of milk, with fat-soluble vitamins being particularly vulnerable. It's estimated that only 50% of the vitamin value remains active after pasteurization. Water-soluble vitamins, including vitamin C, can experience a loss of up to 80%. Even minerals, though not killed by heat, undergo significant alterations. Calcium, an essential mineral for cellular function, can lose up to 50% of its potency. Now, you might be wondering if fortified milk with added vitamins and minerals is a good alternative. Well, the truth is, synthetic forms of vitamins are not easily broken down and utilized by our bodies. In nature, vitamins exist in a complex network alongside other synergistic vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and cofactors that are necessary for proper recognition and utilization by our bodies. Unfortunately, lab-made vitamins lack this natural complexity and may not provide the same benefits as those found in raw milk." We link to an article titled "Raw Milk vs Pasteurized: The Whole Story" written by Kristin Whitaker via campsite.bio/westonaprice for you to learn more! Also, visit realmilk.com

June is National Dairy Month! National Milk Month started in 1937 as a way to distribute extra milk in the course of the warm months of summer. By 1939, June became the official dairy month. Not all dairy is created equally of course! We recommend raw and cultured dairy products and have established a website realmilk.com for you to connect with local providers, and learn about its benefits and safety. We link to it via campsite.bio/westonaprice as well as an article that illustrates the differences between pasteurized and raw milk in photos! A must–see! Note that we are well aware that raw milk is not available everywhere, sadly. There is hope! When we established realmilk.com in 1999, there were only 27 states that allowed any sales of raw milk. Now 46 of our 50 states allow the purchase of raw milk on retail shelves, via herdshares, on the farm sales or as pet milk. Photo: Karenia Townsend
