Cheese Controllers

It'll be 5 years ago, to the day, tomorrow when I decided to start my own business. Driven by my passion for soldering and the high I'd get from reviving dead retro game consoles. Many of you may just know me as the GameCube controller guy, or Virtual Boy nut, or whatever else, but things didn't just happen overnight. In fact, shortly before I started the business I felt stuck. I went to college for chemical engineering because I loved chemistry, but found it wasn't the right fit for me. Changed my major to computer science, same exact thing. Shortly before the COVID shut down, I dropped out and genuinely didn't know what to do with myself. One thing that kept bouncing around my head is that one of my friends had mentioned to me that I seemed to have a great passion for soldering and making things and that he thought I should pursue that... I agreed, but I didn't know where to start. After the shut down, I came into possession of, essentially, an infinite amount of time. Bored one day I decided to put what I deemed as a hobby, at the time, to the test and see if I could fix a Game Boy. So I rang myself up a non-working Game Boy on eBay and told myself, "if I can fix this, maybe I'm on to something." Well, sure enough, the Game Boy came in and I fixed it. Of course, the next thought in my mind was, "well, I wonder if I can sell this?" And literally the same day I listed it, I sold it. My eyes lit up like the president's did from Pikmin 2 when he saw the debt counter go down after the ship scanned Olimar's bottle cap. The rest, as they say, is history. I'm happy to be here, happy to have such a great community, and happy to do what I love every single day. Thank you for 5 years, it's certainly had its ups and downs, but I wouldn't want it any other way and I'm certainly not going anywhere anytime soon. And please, enjoy these old photos of me.
