Finished the second watch of Edgerunners 2, yeah, I think I can safely put this ever so slightly behind Dynazenon as my 2nd favorite thing from Trigger, while Edgerunners 1 started showing cracks on a rewatch, this only felt stronger. Incredible series. Ikarashi 🙇

Edgerunners 2 final review after sitting on it for a bit

Episode 10 of Dynazenon is still what I consider the best individual anime episode of the decade and honestly one of the best of all time, its the one that fully made me a believer in Kai Ikarashi as a director. Glad to see him getting his more general due.

I find it interesting how the two seasons of Edgerunners reflect different routes in the original game, season 1 tackled elements of The Sun and Temperance route while 2 was very in line with The Star route in the base game and elements of The Tower from Phantom Liberty.

Halfway done with Edgerunners 2, so far this series is exceptional when it comes to its visual language and direction, as expected of Ikarashi at the helm, but I can see people not being as engaged with the narrative this time around. (So far)
