I do wonder if people that dislike WFH actually like their home/life outside of work. I chose the career for it anyways but working in the office would significantly decrease my quality of living
'Midday walks' not helping dispel the thought that WFH is a doss

I said this exact thing when ChatGPT first came out. My belief now extends to it being crippling for humanity. I believe it will eventually get to a state where it can perform 99% of office roles. If everyone’s unemployed then what happens?
Went out for pints last night with some engineering mates and I'm now AI doom-pilled. I've been impressed with agents for months. I'm a software engineer and they're better and faster than me. Way better, way faster. But the consensus round the table was that software as we know it is basically done. AI can do it, and it's great at it. We reckoned there's about 2 years left at this level before the proper shakeout. Massive drop in engineer count, because a team of 5 can do what used to take hundreds. Every engineer there was running a side business with AI. Building it, scaling it, marketing it. None of them trust the salary anymore. And we're still so early. People in tech know exactly what these agents can do. I can think of loads of £50k back-office jobs that'll go to an agent burning tokens for way less. Most people are completely oblivious. They have no idea.

Entry level supermarket roles are already eradicated and taken over by Boriswavers. White collar roles are currently being eradicated and give it 10 years they’ll all be gone
A commercial grade weighted self checkout till is £15k-20k all in. Cheaper if purchased in bulk. One minimum wage employee is £31k per year. Tech and Ai are going to eradicate the entry level job market.

Man City haven’t ruined football. Man City haven’t ruined the premier league. Football and the Premier league has been ruined by a handful of teams who have too much say as to how the league is run. It’s been ruined by the Anti Competitive rules that have been put in place

Aston Villa are other examples. If Villa didn’t need to sell their best players they’d probably be challenging for the title, but of course, the PL couldn’t have that. Genuinely, what’s the point? #Fulham #Bournemouth #Newcastle #Villa

I’ve realised something. Under the PL rules, clubs like Fulham are always going down. We have the 6th richest owner in the PL but can’t freely spend. Due to that, you can’t ever truly get to the next level so eventually, it’s inevitable you’ll have a bad season and go down /1

I think *some* fans from abroad can’t differentiate between a home game v some random scrubs and the first European away game in a clubs history because to them it’s all the same. 22 players on a TV screen
He’s absolutely spot on? A person who has spent lots of money over many years following their club up and down the country should never be missing out on an away trip to Prague in their club’s first ever European season for a bloke who has never been to a game.

“English football was sold” because this nonsense stopped.
Since Abramovich arrived in 2003 and Abu Dhabi in 2008, Chelsea and Man Cty have won 13 of the 23 league titles. Their previous combined total was 3. Chelsea in 1955 Man Cty in 1937 & 1968. They had no history of league success in any era. English football was sold 23 years ago.

Here is this wild take on the Man City scandal: Man City owners put their own money in the club. Man Utd owners use the club's money to pay their own debt and refuse to put their own money. If you really deep it, only 1 club is doing what every fan wants. The rules are wrong.

Ipswich's owners are worth 10 billion Why shouldn't they be expected to spend a couple billion of that investing into improving their club? Why do you want billionaires taking money out of the sport rather than putting it in?
Replying to @Mike_RMCF
Buddy you keep repeating the same nonsense and ignore the glaring issue with your argument, since when did rich owners make the sport. You're providing a flawed argument using asset wealth against liquid strong owners. What about teams like Ipswich then?

And this is exactly why I actually rate what City done. Follow the rules and end up like Newcastle. Bend the rules and you end up a European superpower and one of the biggest clubs on the planet in 2026. I’d bet the PL punishment will be fully worth it
Newcastle have one of the richest ownership groups in world football and still ended up selling Alexander Isak to Liverpool and Bruno Guimarães to Arsenal. Read that again. You’re trying to catch these clubs while supplying them with the players who could’ve helped you catch them. What a fucking system.

Sure, covert financial doping is “cheating”. Downloading a pirated movie or copping fake clobber is “stealing”. Plenty of clubs have done similar, just not to this scale (mostly because their owners are not as ambitious)

I swear I must live on another planet to everyone else
This has the potential to be the biggest story of cheating in the entirety of sport, not just football. Makes Lance Armstrong look like he cheated his cycling prophecy test.

Ah yeah providing your club more funds through discrete/illicit means is as bad as paying refs to fix matches or taking performance enhancing drugs fairs

It’s especially crazy when you realise that what they did wouldn’t even be classified as cheating just 10 years prior lol
