The brain isn't wired for performance. It's wired for safety. Fuel them. Let them sleep. Build real relationships. Let them make mistakes without getting punished. Then the brain says, "I'm safe here," and that's when athletes take risks and do extraordinary things. High standards + safety. You need both. @thereadystate x @emmahayes1 GOLD

Sean McVay says the real separator in leadership is how you handle the storms “I think the separator for the coaches and the leaders that I admire the most, because when things are good, it’s really like, how do we stay humble in the midst of that? How do we continue to be able to work and trust the things that we’re doing, but stay humble in the midst of that journey?” “But when you have adversity, when there’s storms, I think it’s so important that whether it’s you guys or players, they can look and they can be like, ‘I believe we can get out of this. I believe this is temporary because I believe that people that are in leadership positions have a vision, have a plan, that there’s an authenticity, there’s a capacity, there’s character and there’s a connection that are behind those things, and this too shall pass.’” “But when you’re in those storms, if you’re looking around and you don’t have anybody where it’s like, ‘Man, woe is me. We’re never going to get out of it,’ that’s why I respect and admire when I watch leaders, whether that’s players, coaches, or just leaders in any other space, I want to see how you’re handling the tough times.” “Because that’s when I’ve been at my worst, and I don’t want to be that again. And that’s when you’re really, the separator is how you handle the storms. I really believe that.”

“He was a man of faith. He was a Christian. He was ready for his last day,” David Beamer told me. “He didn’t see it coming. They all got up to go to work that day. He never came home.” “Todd was a Christian long before September 11th.” David is the father of Todd Beamer, the hero on United flight 93 on September 11th that said “Let’s roll,” and along with his fellow passengers, prevented the plane from hitting its intended target, and saved many lives. David said, “His faith and our faith is what has enabled us to carry on for now…” “All of us are going to have a last day. High probability, right? And we need to be ready for it. Todd was ready for his.” “I encourage everyone to put your faith in Jesus Christ. At the end of the day, it’s the only thing that matters.” @SatAmericaFNC @FoxNews ⬇️

Ben McCollum shares what it feels like to be around first-place people and a first-place culture. "I went to Northwest Missouri State, and my first practice with Steve Tapmeyer - best coach I've ever been around - I sat there and I'm like, 'This is what first place feels like. This is what a first-place culture feels like. This is what first-place people feel like.'" That was the wake-up call. He realized what first-place people have: "They've got an extreme work ethic. They've got an edge to 'em that other people don't - a competitive spirit." Then he quoted John Thompson: "You can tame a fool a lot quicker than you can resurrect a corpse...We want guys with a little edge to 'em." You can coach skills, but you can't coach competitive spirit. You don't want to consistently coach their effort and attitude. The last thing they look for: Energy givers. "Over the years, we found that guys that are moody don't make it in our program." "If you're moody, if you have low energy, if you suck the life out of the building - you don't make it." Talent isn't enough. Your energy matters. Your attitude matters. Successful people have a competitive edge, they bring energy, and they look to consistently get better. They raise the standard through what they do. (🎥 Watts Happening Podcast)

Adversity can lead to frustration, bitterness, blaming, division, complaining and failure. Or adversity can lead to strength, innovation, resilience, unity, growth, renewed commitment. Everyone faces adversity. What you do with it is up to you.

One of the saddest sentences in the Bible is Genesis chapter 35 verse 19, it says..."And Rachel died...." If you know who Rachel was to Jacob and what she represented in his life, you'll understand why this is a very sad sentence. Rachel was Jacob's first love. The woman he worked for 7 years to marry. Worked another 7 years after the sister was deceitfully given to him, because he wanted Rachel, not Leah. He worked another 7 years to get money to take them home. Rachel represented Jacob's youthful strength. She represented his life's labour. She was a summary of his surjourn. Have you ever invested all your life, resources, time, youth, effort, emotions in something and then lost that thing? That's the picture of Rachel. Rachel is a retirement plan, A lifetime of work and investment. But Rachel died. Imagine the pains of knowing that all you worked for is gone with the wind. Imagine waking up one day to realize that you have nothing to show for your 21 years of toil. Imagine realizing that the very thing that you lived for has been taken away from you. How would you feel? But the next two verses gives a clear guide on what is expected. Verse 20, Jacob buried Rachel. Verse 21: And Israel moved on. Yes, you should learn to bury what is dead and move on. Stop crying over a relationship that wasted years of your life. Stop being a victim of someone's wickedness to you. Don't give anyone the opportunity to hold you down in pain and regret. Refuse another man/woman to make you the victim in your own story. The man left you, and so what? They stole from you, and so what? They betrayed you, and so what? Stop repeating the story of your pains. Bury Rachel. I know that Rachel was all you've always wanted, but you can't stop your journey of destiny because Rachel died. Bury her and move on. No matter how beautiful your past was, it shouldn't stop you from exploring the future. Mourn the lost relationship. Mourn the lost job. Mourn the pains. Cry if you may But when you're done crying, Wipe your tears and move on. For when there is Life, there's hope. A living dog is better than a dead Lion. Restoration is here. Let Rachel go!

Schmidtbleicher Principle: the final repetition of an exercise has the most profound and long-lasting impact on motor learning and central nervous system (CNS) adaptation. The brain deeply encodes and "remembers" the execution quality of the final rep of a training set or session. 💥 Tired is the enemy… train in a state of energy, excitement, and enthusiasm 💥 When you train the EXTREME, you train the RANGE 💥 When an athlete PRs in a workout, send them home ⚡️⚡️⚡️ 💥 Don’t burn the steak 💥 Send athletes home with gas left in the tank

ACL injury is not just mechanics. Have you thought maybe, just maybe, it's too much soccer load (breakdown training) and NOT enough building training (strength) during the season? It's also a fatigue failure injury and not enough capacity to handle soccer load.

Proverb’s Wisdom. Our words reveal the kind of people we truly are. What people say will one day bear fruit, whether sweet or rotten.

🔥 Marriage Was Never Designed to Make You Happy 🔥 Passion comes and goes. The real question is whether you can keep choosing each other when the excitement fades. Marriage doesn’t reveal your soulmate—it reveals your character, your patience, and your ability to grow alongside another imperfect person.
