I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points.

Why don’t Daylight Saving Time fans choose (or ask) to start their own workdays an hour early? DST forces the rest of us to start an hour earlier than Standard Time.
ALT Two photos from Asheville, North Carolina, this morning, October 27. At 7am Eastern Daylight Saving Time, the sky is dark. At 7am Eastern Standard Time, the sky is light.

Daylight Saving Time never saved energy. It has always been a trick to make us set alarms an hour earlier than Standard Time, in the hopes that we’ll spend more money.
ALT Political cartoon by Carlson. A couple lie in bed, the room pitch black, the sky outside dark, the clock says “6:15am”. The man asks, “Tell me again how Daylight Saving Time saves energy?”

When an animal is suffering, it is your business. Looking away is how cruelty gets away with it.
