Black and Jewish voters are more Democratic than any other groups. We are waving a giant red flag that says El Sayed is not the direction for our party.

Just to state the obvious:
Itās entirely possible to oppose aid to Israelā whether on moral, foreign policy, or financial grounds ā without promoting the fiction that such aid, or Israel itself, is responsible for what Americans pay for their groceries.

Relatively normal and likeable dude replaces deeply unpleasant and polarizing political animal as leader of conservative party and wins massively, in what is surely a fluke one-off with no broader meaning or significance that anyone should pay attention to or ponder in any way.

Toronto Mayor just can't help herself; connects antisemitic vandalism and shootings at local Jewish buildings to disagreements with some random government's foreign policy
"I've been very clear that I've said no to hate, no to anti Semitism and I was at the vigil just few weeks ago, and which I've done so. However I do not support what the the Israeli government is doing." @OliviaChow addresses concerns of her support of Toronto's Jewish community.

I know itās unusual for me to be this quiet during a provincial election.
I supported David Eby in the last election. But Iāve been deeply disappointed by his record as Premier and his performance throughout this campaign.
Frankly, heās given British Columbians very few reasons to re-elect him.
I voted for him last time because there was no real alternative for Liberals, and I supported his government's pro-housing policies. The BC Conservatives, after all, were campaigning against Liberals as much as they were against New Democrats.
The BC Conservatives look considerably more credible than they did just a few months ago. But I remain deeply concerned about how far to the right many of their MLAs are. There are still people in that caucus who clearly admired Donald Trump and his way of doing politics.
One of my biggest concerns about a BC Conservative government is the possibility of a prolonged and entirely unnecessary confrontation with First Nations. That would be a terrible setback for reconciliation, economic development and the future of our province.
We need to be building partnerships, not picking fights. If the Conservatives win, I hope they send an early signal that they intend to approach these relationships seriously and constructively, rather than through an ideological lens.
Given the recent municipal election results, I also worry about a Conservative government picking a fight with the City of Vancouver, where I live. In particular, I worry about possible cuts to supportive housing that could leave even more people homeless. Vancouver has enough challenges without the provincial government making them worse.
The Greens have become too radical, OneBC are racists, and Centre BC hasn't punched through.
So I find myself dissatisfied with the choices before us.
More than anything, I hope British Columbia will one day have a credible, centrist, Liberal-branded alternative that believes in economic growth, social progress and bringing people together.
We certainly need one.

CBC deliberately inverted the story
They opened with: āIsrael has closed off the West Bank after Israeli soldiers shot and killed two Palestinians near Hebron.ā
The actual sequenceāthat two armed men from Hebron drove up, got out of the car, and opened fire on the checkpoint, triggering a 20-minute gun battle in which the attackers were killedāwas buried nearly two and a half minutes in. Only then did viewers learn about the large quantity of weapons and ammunition, Israeli officials saying the pair were planning a major attack on civilians, and Hamas praising the āhigh-impact operationā while calling for more violence.
BBC, CNN, The Washington Post, and The Times of Israel all led with the attack itself. CBC chose not to.
This is not neutral sequencing. Leading with the Israeli response while delaying the fact that the dead men initiated a terrorist attack is a classic framing choice that makes the aggressors look like victimsādays before Israelās election @brodiefenlon

NEW: Education Minister Paul Calandra tells me he's "very excited" to have Stan Cho on his team, and that the "quality of his work since he's been an MPP is literally second to none."
Premier Ford announced Cho will be joining Calandraās team as a parliamentary assistant ā just three months after Cho resigned from cabinet for charging taxpayers $16,000 in Toronto hotel stays.
The new role comes with a $22,500 pay bump. Ford declined to comment. Story: thetrillium.ca/insider-news/ā¦

In July, when asked about his frivolous use of taxpayer funds for unnecessary hotel stays, Premier Ford described then-minister Stan Choās behaviour as ātotally unacceptable.ā Today, he gave him a new title ā and a $22,500 raise.
What changed, Premier? And what does accountability actually mean to you?

Thanks to the hosts of Race to Replace (@airquotesmedia) for digging into my health care plan.
After years of Doug Fordās cuts, Ontarians are waiting too long for too little care. They need a real plan, and Iām putting in the work, and building a team to put change into action.
In the next election, and when we form government, our team is ready to fix what he has broken.

I know that we can count on Olivia to stand up for people, and their human rights and their dignity and wellbeing. It's so important that everyone gets out to vote on Monday October 26th Olivia. Or we could get stuck with a mayor we do not want and cannot afford. Brad Bradford will say anything to get elected. He flip flops. He cant be counted on. We can't trust him. We know who @oliviachow Chow is. So please make sure you go and vote for Olivia. A Mayor we can trust.

This is such revisionist nonsense. Back when I was at the federal cabinet retreat pleading with them to get the international student situation under control (and getting called a racist for my efforts), Alberta was in the media asking for the population to grow *faster*.
The Prime Minister and I have found common ground on many things over the last 18 months. However, it appears that he has yet to fully understand just how damaging the open-border policies of his predecessor were. Those policies caused Canadaās cost of living to skyrocket, overwhelmed our social services, and made homes and jobs unattainable for thousands of young Canadians.
Thatās why Iām encouraging Albertans to vote āyes to the restā to give our government a strong mandate to take more control over our immigration system, so that we can prioritize economic migrants, put Albertans first for jobs, and ensure Albertansā social services are sustainable. Weāre also asking for a strong mandate to work with willing provinces to reform the courts, abolish the senate, and protect provincial jurisdiction.
I look forward to hearing from Albertans on October 19th.

Iām deeply troubled by the Toronto Starās reporting that the Ford government hid a study showing problem gambling rates significantly higher than expected. Ontarians deserve transparency, not a government that keeps them in the dark.
As premier, Iāll put an end to Fordās harmful online gambling advertising scheme and make sure Ontarians have the treatment and support they need to recover from gambling addiction.

This happened at a school in a predominantly Jewish area. Proud of the kids who pushed back and reported Mary Thompson. @YRDSB, do better. Our kids need teachers who donāt make them feel unsafe.
Hey @WCI_YRDSB, is it common practice for your teachers to provoke and create a hostile environment for their students?
Teachers are there to EDUCATE. Using classroom authority to push an anti-Israel political agenda or make Jewish students feel targeted is unacceptable.
Jewish and pro-Israel students deserve respect and a classroom free from intimidation. What are you doing to ensure that?
Bravo to these kids for standing up to this teacher! š

āDrop out or go broke.ā Thatās the choice students face because of Doug Fordās OSAP freeze caused by years of not paying attention.
No one, especially a single parent, should be punished for trying to build a better life for their family.
As Premier, Iāll watch every dollar closely. Iāll restore OSAP funding to legitimate colleges, and make sure our education system works for hardworking Ontarians.
