Well, it's been quite a year...we've had fieldwork interrupted, labs closed, projects put on hold and a huge amount of upheaval in our personal and working lives. But, despite all this, we've a lot to be proud of this year... 1/7
We've more manuscripts on the way from some more of our PhD researchers, including @gernome, @AlexTLancaster and one of our @MMU_CEB exiles, @MZatrak, plus new PhD research starting in the New year with @raptor_jimmi, what's not to like? 7/8
A new blog from Susie Phillips about her MRes research investigating inbreeding in a rare amphibian is up on our website: chesterconsbio.group/2020/12… You can read the full paper here: doi.org/10.33256/hj30.3.1591…

Well done to Susie Phillips on our new paper with @CheshireWT @ARC_Bytes that finds evidence of inbreeding in reintroduced populations of a protected amphibian and supports further management actions to ensure survival. With @lovethedove11 @Rachjb27 @MattGeary
Just published today by Phillips et al. as Open Access in The Herpetological Journal "The importance of long-term genetic monitoring of reintroduced populations: inbreeding in the natterjack toad (Epidalea calamita)"
