Feels like an important time to remind everyone that single mothers and in particular black single mothers are among the most targeted demographic for eviction.
These fuckers don't care about mothers and children.
Starting on March 31st, the Chicago Tenant’s Movement hotline will begin to shut down so we can focus our organizing capacity on street outreach, canvassing, and helping tenants launch campaigns in their buildings.
For the entire month of April, calling the hotline will direct callers to a list of various other resources to reach out to instead of our hotline. On April 30th, the hotline will close and the number will be disconnected.
Several Albany Park community orgs have come together in recent days to support tenants displaced by the recent fires. They’re coming very close to their goal!! Please Consider donating and sharing!!

Mia is an Unhoused transgender woman that ctm has been in touch with for sometime now. After months of fighting for secure housing, She was recently approved for an apartment but needs money for moving costs and for the deposit, any support would be greatly appreciated!

Update on the ETU: All union demands have been agreed to by the landlord including
- A withdrawal of the retaliatory rent increases and lease conditions.
- Controlled rent in the building for all tenants the next year.

Our Thermometer Distribution is still happening! If your snowed in today without proper heating give us a call and we can get you access to a thermometer and begin a campaign to have your landlord turn up your heat!
The weather is getting colder and the landlords are getting shadier! Chicago Tenants Movement is handing out thermometers to tenants who believe their landlord has shut off the heat or lowered it below the legal minimum!(68 degrees during the day 66 at night)
