Honoured to join the Suhba Series Edition 02: Becoming Her, convened by Farida Idris at Movenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi.
We must build a Kenya where every woman and girl has the voice, agency, opportunity and freedom to lead, own, build and thrive.
The government agenda to empower women economically is a positive shift to ensure a financially stable economy system and create Safe Spaces for Women .
As we rise, let us reach back, open doors and bring others along.
It was a privilege to share the platform with H.E. Amb. Amina Mohamed and Dr. Julie Gichuru, President & CEO of the Africa Leadership and Dialogue Institute (ALADi).

Kenya's greatest resource is not beneath our soil, it is the talent, energy and ambition of our young people. Our responsibility is to turn that potential into opportunity.
Engaging more than 6,000 young Kenyans at the PAG Church National Conference in Nyang'ori, Vihiga County, I challenged them to embrace skills, TVET, technology, agribusiness, entrepreneurship and the creative economy. There is dignity in every honest job, learn a skill, embrace innovation and don't only look for employment, think about how you can create it.
H.E. President @WilliamsRuto , the Government and I remain committed to opening these pathways, including through programmes such as NYOTA and Kazi Majuu, which under my docket at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs is connecting Kenyans to legitimate employment opportunities abroad.
Above all, protect the future you are working to build. Stay away from drugs and substance abuse, make responsible choices and take your health seriously, including in the continued fight against HIV and AIDS.
Kenya needs its young people skilled, healthy, ambitious and ready to lead.
We joined the ACK Diocese of Butere in celebrating 150 years of the Women's Ministry.
Together with The Rt. Rev. Rose Nereya Okeno, Bishop of the ACK Diocese of Butere, church leadership, and the Principal Secretary for Children Services, we paid courtesy visits to Butere Boys High School and Butere Girls High School, where we encouraged students to uphold discipline, pursue academic excellence, and become responsible citizens.
We encouraged women in the community to embrace economic activities to better their lives and to ensure they take children to school .
This affirmed the govenrnent commitment in advancing the rights, dignity, and empowerment of women.
Congratulations to the ACK Women's Ministry, Diocese of Butere, on this remarkable milestone. Happy 150th Anniversary.

At the Women Achievers’ Conference and Awards 2026, I called for intentional mentorship and full women’s participation in leadership and governance.
I believe Africa’s leadership pipeline depends on each one of us committing to mentor one woman every year, opening doors, and championing other people’s dreams.
My message is simple: democracy thrives when women participate fully, and leadership is a collective responsibility we all share.

We honour the women who came before us, celebrate the women making history today, and invest in the women who will shape tomorrow.
It was a privilege to address the Women Achievers Africa Conference & Awards 2026 alongside Ms. Elizabeth Koskei, CEO of Mama Doing Good, who represented the Chief Guest Her Excellency Rachel Ruto. Together we reaffirmed a simple truth: when women are empowered, communities prosper, economies grow, and nations thrive.
Empowering women is not an act of charity — it is an investment in Africa’s future. Let us continue to mentor, uplift, and create opportunities so that no woman’s potential is wasted and no girl’s dream is deferred.
Together, we rise. Together, we build. Together, we transform Africa.

Today, I had the honour of officially opening the Africa PFM, IPSAS & Data Analytics Technical Conference 2026, bringing together public finance leaders, policymakers and development partners committed to strengthening governance across Africa.
The conference brought together representatives from the Office of the Auditor-General, API CEO Evans Mulera, IPSAS Chair Nabert Mandala, and other distinguished leaders advancing transparency, accountability and innovation in public finance.
As Africa embraces digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence, we must build institutions anchored on integrity, innovation and accountability to deliver lasting progress for our people.
I wish all delegates fruitful deliberations and impactful outcomes.

It was a pleasure to return to Osiligi Farm in Kajiado Central for the graduation and certificate award ceremony of women and youth who successfully completed the livestock enterprise capacity-building programme.
I commend Ms. Lillian Koech, Director of Exquisite Top Breeders Limited, together with Heifer International, the Kenya Forest Service, and the Kenya Livestock Marketing Board for investing in women's and youth economic empowerment.

Honoured to join Hon. Memusi Kanchory at Saina Secondary School in Kajiado Central, alongside education stakeholders and the Board of Management, to engage students on discipline, resilience, and responsible choices. I urge parents to provide safe, supportive homes that enable every child to succeed. Together, let us keep investing in education and our children's future.

It was encouraging to witness the remarkable progress at Saina Secondary School, a testament to Hon. Memusi's commitment to expanding access to quality education in Kajiado Central. Modern, well-equipped learning institutions such as this provide the foundation our children need to succeed and reinforce the importance of sustained investment in education.
Every girl deserves the chance to grow up safe, stay in school, and pursue her dreams free from fear and harmful practices. Child marriage robs girls of their childhood, education, health, and future—and it has no place in our society.
Protecting girls is a shared responsibility. Families, communities, institutions, and government must work together to create safe homes and safe spaces where every child can thrive.

Yesterday's engagement at Osiligi Farm in Kajiado Central highlighted the power of partnerships in transforming livelihoods. I had the opportunity to participate in a three-day livestock enterprise capacity-building programme hosted by Lillian Koech, Director of Exquisite Top Breeders Limited, in partnership with @Heifer , BCLB, BetPawa, Equity Bank, and the Kenya Forest Service.
The programme equipped women and youth with practical skills to transition from traditional livestock keeping to modern, market-oriented, and profitable livestock enterprises.
Empowering communities through skills development and strategic partnerships is key to creating sustainable livelihoods, strengthening local economies, and advancing inclusive economic growth.

Today, I joined women and youth in Kajiado Central for an economic empowerment programme hosted by Lillian Koech of Exquisite Top Breeders Ltd, in partnership with BCLB, BetPawa, Equity Bank, and KFS.
The training equipped participants with practical skills in modern livestock farming, financial discipline, and value addition, while support through water tanks will strengthen sustainable farming in the face of water scarcity.
Empowering women and youth with skills and opportunity is key to reducing poverty, strengthening families, and building a more resilient nation. This also complements our Safe Homes, Safe Spaces initiative by promoting stable, empowered families and resilient communities.
Disability is not inability. The creativity, talent, and determination displayed by the learners at Joytown Special School are a powerful reminder that when children are nurtured in safe spaces, every ability has the opportunity to flourish. #SafeHomesSafeSpaces #DisabilityIsNotInability
