I like how @phantom lets me flip perp positions with one click and they also top up the position. So a $500 short that lost $80 goes from $420 back to $500. So I can loose 100% on both legs! 200% combined instead of 100% max doing the flip.

Hard for me to see someone who was a colleague at MIT relishing in my destruction. Particularly since they barely knew me and never bothered--as perhaps scientists should--to check if there was another version of events.
🚨 BOMBSHELL COURT EVIDENCE EXPOSES EXPLOSIVE PRIVATE MESSAGES REVEALING COORDINATION BETWEEN KRISTIN KNOUSE AND MIT PROFESSOR SANGEETA BHATIA IN THE DAVID M. SABATINI ORDEAL. 🔱 NEW REVELATION — Court evidence exposes how Knouse and Bhatia privately celebrated Sabatini’s removal, discussed the potential destruction of his professional career, and anticipated the revocation of his @MIT tenure. An 80-message exchange between Kristin Knouse and MIT Professor Sangeeta Bhatia, dated August 20–21, 2021, reveals their private reactions immediately following Whitehead Institute and HHMI's severance of ties with Professor @DMSabatini. The communications contain statements that deserve serious public examination. 🔴 1. “YOU DID IT” — “AND HE’S OUT.” On August 20, 2021, Bhatia congratulated Knouse: 🔴 “YOU DID IT. You crossed the finish line. It's out in the open. And you're not out in the open. And you're on the faculty. And he's out.” Knouse responded: 🔴 “You connecting me to Nancy [Hopkins]was the turning point. I will never forget that walk in Lexington.” 🔴 2. “THIS WAS THE OUTCOME I DREAMED OF.” The following morning, as news coverage spread, Knouse discussed the possibility of Sabatini losing his MIT tenure: 🔴 “Hard to imagine MIT will be left with any choice other than to revoke tenure.” Bhatia responded: 🔴 “You're right about tenure” She subsequently wrote: 🔴 “This was the outcome I dreamed of but NEVER certain I would get it.” Knouse also described her assessment of Whitehead's handling of the matter: 🔴 “And as skeptical as I was of Whitehead's end game, in the end I think the overall process was perfectly executed.” Bhatia expressed her approval of Whitehead Institute Director Ruth Lehmann: 🔴 “I'm proud of Ruth [Lehmann]” These exchanges occurred months before MIT's April 2022 tenure-revocation recommendation. 🔴 3. THE PROFESSIONAL CONSEQUENCES — BEYOND WHITEHEAD. The participants also discussed Sabatini's corporate affiliations and prospects for future employment. Knouse wrote: 🔴 “I know of one company already speaking with lawyers to remove him on grounds of morality clause.” She subsequently stated: 🔴 “Hard to imagine how he can be gainfully employed anywhere after the past 24 hours ...” These were not merely discussions about an institutional investigation. They extended to the potential consequences for Sabatini's career, tenure, corporate affiliations, and future livelihood. 🔴 4. THE DIVERSITY SURVEY AND PROTECTION FROM PUBLIC IDENTIFICATION. In another particularly consequential exchange, Bhatia wrote: 🔴 “Also the dei survey and subsequent investigation really protects you, which I love. There is not even a scent of whistleblower in all the press.” This statement takes on particular significance alongside the previously disclosed communications in which Knouse and Nora Kory discussed using Whitehead's diversity survey to conceal an investigation already under consideration (📑 see the original court evidence in the first comment below). 🔴 5. “WE DRANK CHAMPAGNE” — CELEBRATING AS THE NEWS SPREAD. Perhaps the most striking exchange appears on KK011419. On August 21, 2021, Knouse declared: 🔴 “I KNOW! Young people took down a relatively young king. Progress, progress, progress.” Knouse also wrote: 🔴 “Two other women who came forward and I drank champagne while watching the Tweets and articles roll in last night. It felt like campaign headquarters after an election victory. Really special.” Bhatia responded: 🔴 “That's awesome.” These exchanges reinforce the serious concerns about coordination and conflicts of interest raised by our previous disclosures. Their significance must be assessed alongside the full documentary record and the subsequent jury verdict. The scientific community deserves full accountability for any misconduct established by the evidence, including the roles of individuals who participated in or improperly influenced the institutional processes that subjected Professor Sabatini to a devastating ordeal and profoundly damaged his career. 📑 REVIEW THE ORIGINAL COURT EVIDENCE BELOW. 🔱 ScienceGuardians™ Legal and Investigative Team MORE COURT EVIDENCE. MORE REVELATIONS. STAY TUNED. ⚠️ @SciGuardians 🔱

So hyped for the day Apple finally drops HBM in MacBooks 😮‍💨 • GDDR6/7: ~$2 - $3.50/GB • DDR5/LPDDR5: ~$3 - $5/GB • HBM3e/4: ~$13 - $20+/GB Yeah it’s nearly 10x the cost, but you get a literal 10x jump in bandwidth (up to 4.8 TB/s). Fair trade IMO, let them cook.

We complain about the Apple tax on Unified Memory, but enterprise HBM costs 10x more ($13-$20+/GB vs $3-$5/GB for standard RAM). The payoff? A massive 10x jump in bandwidth (up to 4.8+ TB/s) by trading a narrow 512-bit bus for an ultra-wide 8192-bit vertical stack. excited for apple to start putting hbm in their laptops Consumer GDDR6/GDDR7 (GPU VRAM): Costs roughly $2 to $3.50 per GB. Standard DDR5 / LPDDR5 (Laptop/Desktop RAM): Costs roughly $3 to $5 per GB. HBM3e / HBM4 (Enterprise Memory): Costs between $13 to $20+ per GB so 10x the cost for 10x the bandwidth. fair trade imo

How exactly does an api documentation site leak private keys or access credentials to allow fund transfers? Most likely it was all vibe coded fast on a single server. If an attacker got in thru the “api documentation site” via whatever means they have access to all of everyone’s keys and most Likely privilege escalated to any other servers they had too
We are aware of a small number of users who have experienced unauthorized transfers of funds from their wallets, totaling approximately 400,000 USDT. Our preliminary investigation suggests that our API documentation site, which is hosted by a third-party provider, may have been compromised, potentially affecting a small number of users over a short period of time. The API documentation site has been taken offline as a precaution and will remain offline until our investigation is complete. At Predict.fun, we take the security of our users and their funds extremely seriously. As such, we will fully reimburse all affected users for any funds lost as a direct result of this incident. Once our investigation is complete, we will publish a full post-mortem detailing what happened and the steps we're taking to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Sooo what I’m hearing is Brazil is gonna get cheaper to travel to
The Founding Fathers tied voting rights to property ownership. Their (correct) reasoning was that only property owners have skin in the long game. Brazilian stocks plunged nearly 25% after an election, the market has made it very clear that it thinks. Yet non-owners barely feel the pain even if everyone pays eventually for the cost of socialism. The solution, however, isn’t fewer voters, but more capital owners. A healthier democracy requires widespread capital ownership, not just income redistribution. Universal stock grants held in trust until age 25–30, with earlier access for education, would give everyone a stake in the country’s future. There’s an obvious irony in using redistribution to defend capitalism. The goal isn’t to socialize ownership but rather to decentralize it. A society dependent on the state is different than a democracy of individual owners with a stake in its future.

if theres one thing i will remember from crypto is that mcap means nothing.... $10 in the liquidity pool and u can have a billion dollar company
Always amazed when I learn about a new public company for the first time. Especially one that did YC and is based in SF/NYC. @BillionToOneInc is a $5B+ public company ($BLLN) that I never heard of before today. Despite it being YC S17 and the fact that I did YC myself a couple batches afterwards, I had no clue it existed. As far as I can tell, it's @ycombinator's biggest bio success story too. Checked the X account and it has 1,302 followers. Have never seen on a podcast, a wsj article, on the timeline, etc. but yet a monster bio company making very real revenue! Goes to show that there are likely multiple companies founded in last 10 years (not just the sleepy under the radar midwest ones from decades ago) still based in hot areas (BillionToOne is in Menlo Park) that still don't show up on the "timeline" and are even public (BillionToOne IPOed last year) that fly very under the radar...looks like the buzz makes no difference to its success!

so many gems and great tips in this talk from @yminsky about how to improve your codebase for agents • agents thrive on feedback, and types are one of the best kinds • make illegal states unrepresentable with types, and it enforces global rules across your codebase • property based tests, fuzzing, and even full-system deterministic simulation testing • expect tests: just print stuff out and capture it in the test. makes behavior legible. it's very similar to how compilers have fixture tests, it reduces the review surface area • formal methods used to be very expensive: seL4 is about 8,700 lines of C and took around 25 person-years, with 23 lines of proof for every line of C code, but agents change the roi youtube.com/watch?v=rUYP4C29…

Introducing Wren! You can just ask claude to build one for you! And ask Claude to pick a name! I think he picked Wren cos of Ren and Stimpy and i guess im stimpy (Kepler is just my Chatgpt dot bot. i asked it to pick a name for itself too)
Anthropic just launched Claude Duet. I've been building my own personal AI agent since June. It runs on my server, coordinates Claude, Codex, ChatGPT and other agents, and works while I'm away. In several important ways, I think we've gone further. Meet Wren 🧵 Powered by Claude opus and works directly in the claude desktop and mobile apps better than claudes native offerings...

We’re opening a research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent. It comes to you with what needs your attention, completes tasks you ask of it, keeps working when you step away, and checks with you before it acts on your behalf.

Our internal Duet comparison: 6 areas ahead, 5 at parity, 2 partial, 0 entirely missing. Not an independent benchmark. Duet has stronger turnkey breadth. But Wren gives us multi-model coordination, our own infrastructure and workflows built around what we actually do.

The biggest thing we've learned: the model is only one piece. Memory, orchestration, permissions, checkpoints and verification are what make an assistant useful across days and projects. Wren isn't finished. Some integrations and approval flows still need work. But I think the future is bigger than one AI app: models, tools and agents working together, remembering projects and verifying results. I'll share the architecture, experiments and mistakes next.
